... that I'm more giddy about Yuletide opening in something like thirteen hours than I am about Christmas Eve stuff?

Not that I'm not excited about Christmas Eve stuff, although anything I'm getting I'm probably getting tomorrow since tonight is extended-family-presents and tomorrow morning is stuff my mom and dad bought me. Mostly what I'm doing tonight is cooking while everybody else goes to church (ah, the joys of being the only non-Catholic) and watching everybody else open presents. And then I'll sleep over my parents' house, and then I'll wake up tomorrow and open presents and make a run for it before my mother makes me watch a parade on TV or something.

But Yuletide! YAY! I love fic exchanges, no matter how much stress they put me through. And I've got two in it this time, which is cool. I'm pretty sure it's not to easy to tell that I wrote one of them, but I think the other one's much easier if you've been paying attention and you know how I write. But it was one of those last-minute stocking stuffer stories, so I couldn't resist.

Today's embarrassing admission: I really want to see The Surreal Life Fame Games. Sad but true.

Today's other embarrassing admission: When I don't want to curse around someone, I say, "Oh, bother," in all complete seriousness. It's quite possibly the dorkiest thing I do.

There are 921 stories at this moment! ::runs around squeeing::

I can't wait for Yuletide to open.

Tomorrow Avi's going off with a friend for the day, so I'm at home with the baby. I can tell you what I'll be doing at naptime...

Heh. I don't have to work until Tuesday night. I am SET. Just me and some Smirnoff and the Yuletide archive. :)

What does it say about me that I'm more giddy about Yuletide opening in something like thirteen hours than I am about Christmas Eve stuff?

That you think that Yuletide is more fun than Christmas Eve, probably. I don't know why that would be a shock. Not much happens on Christmas Eve. It's mostly about getting a lot of last minute chores done, and waiting till tomorrow so that you can open presents. It's the slowest day of the YEAR.

Yuletide is about stories, though. And stories are fun. I'm not participating, but I'm looking forward to seeing what people came up with.

Today's other embarrassing admission: When I don't want to curse around someone, I say, "Oh, bother," in all complete seriousness.

You too?

Not in my family. Christmas is like a two-day celebration with us -- there's two big dinners and two big gift exchanges, and Christmas Eve is when my entire family goes to church. So with us Christmas Eve is just as busy as Christmas is, if not more so. I don't know ... I'm just not in the Christmas spirit this year. *shrugs*

You too?

*snickers* Yup. I got teased last week at work because my best friend heard me say it for the first time. (Usually because if I'm around her it's okay for me to curse so I never use it around her.)

ZOMG YULETIDE. For serious. How on earth am I going to get to sleep tonight? There are over 900 story-type things uploaded at the moment! ajhfsdafsd.

I KNOW! I'm not going to get any sleep for days, not to mention that I want to get comments and recs in before the authors get revealed.

*whimpers in anticipation*

Dude, I am totally there with you, I could not care less about my family gathering today.

We do the same thing you do, big family Christmas Eve, just immediate family Christmas Day and if I could possibly get away with it, I would stay home and probably have a much better time. Oh well, I'll get to read it all tomorrow afternoon after the festivities.

I was more excited about the Christmas exchange for my fandom (which opened yesterday, for some reason) than about Christmas Eve, too. And Christmas, for that matter. It was like our own little fandom Christmas.

I like Christmas Eve because my family's nuts and all, but this is my first year with Yuletide and I am squeeing all over inside.

I'm pretty sure it's not to easy to tell that I wrote one of them, but I think the other one's much easier if you've been paying attention and you know how I write.

This is exactly how I'd describe the stories I wrote. The first one stretched me in a new direction, and the second one was like hanging out with old friends.

The list of people who need stocking stuffers is down to SIX!!! The clock is down to HOURS! YAY!

Dude, I stared at that stocking stuffer list trying to come up with new stories I could write for it until the list dwindled totally down to requests I didn't know the fandom for. Yuletide is the BEST. Writing fic for fandoms that never get enough of it? Yes, please! :)
