What does it say about me ...
Dec. 24th, 2006 10:33 am... that I'm more giddy about Yuletide opening in something like thirteen hours than I am about Christmas Eve stuff?
Not that I'm not excited about Christmas Eve stuff, although anything I'm getting I'm probably getting tomorrow since tonight is extended-family-presents and tomorrow morning is stuff my mom and dad bought me. Mostly what I'm doing tonight is cooking while everybody else goes to church (ah, the joys of being the only non-Catholic) and watching everybody else open presents. And then I'll sleep over my parents' house, and then I'll wake up tomorrow and open presents and make a run for it before my mother makes me watch a parade on TV or something.
But Yuletide! YAY! I love fic exchanges, no matter how much stress they put me through. And I've got two in it this time, which is cool. I'm pretty sure it's not to easy to tell that I wrote one of them, but I think the other one's much easier if you've been paying attention and you know how I write. But it was one of those last-minute stocking stuffer stories, so I couldn't resist.
Today's embarrassing admission: I really want to see The Surreal Life Fame Games. Sad but true.
Today's other embarrassing admission: When I don't want to curse around someone, I say, "Oh, bother," in all complete seriousness. It's quite possibly the dorkiest thing I do.

Tomorrow Avi's going off with a friend for the day, so I'm at home with the baby. I can tell you what I'll be doing at naptime...

Date: 2006-12-24 04:05 pm (UTC)That you think that Yuletide is more fun than Christmas Eve, probably. I don't know why that would be a shock. Not much happens on Christmas Eve. It's mostly about getting a lot of last minute chores done, and waiting till tomorrow so that you can open presents. It's the slowest day of the YEAR.
Yuletide is about stories, though. And stories are fun. I'm not participating, but I'm looking forward to seeing what people came up with.

You too?

*snickers* Yup. I got teased last week at work because my best friend heard me say it for the first time. (Usually because if I'm around her it's okay for me to curse so I never use it around her.)

Date: 2006-12-24 04:25 pm (UTC)We do the same thing you do, big family Christmas Eve, just immediate family Christmas Day and if I could possibly get away with it, I would stay home and probably have a much better time. Oh well, I'll get to read it all tomorrow afternoon after the festivities.

This is exactly how I'd describe the stories I wrote. The first one stretched me in a new direction, and the second one was like hanging out with old friends.
The list of people who need stocking stuffers is down to SIX!!! The clock is down to HOURS! YAY!
