How stupid, annoying, selfish, and just flat-out bad is it that I'm a wee bit depressed I haven't made [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes in something like two weeks?

*user smacks self upside the head in the manner of Cher in "Moonstruck"* Snap out of it! You self-centered dumbass.

You know, when my brain decides it's depressed, it fixates on the stupidest shit on the planet to be depressed about. Like why that fish census wasn't larger, or how freaking long it takes to type without working G and H keys.

EDIT: And just to make me feel that much better, Scalia Ridicules Court's Gay Sex Ruling. Ahem ... The ruling, Scalia said, "held to be a constitutional right what had been a criminal offense at the time of the founding and for nearly 200 years thereafter."

Two hundred years ago, it was also legal to rape your slaves.

It's called progress, fuckstick.

Maybe he's forgotten a few other things that have changed in regards to constitutional rights since then...

-- You could own slaves then; now, you can't. (Of course, there was a big war that helped bring that change about...)
-- Women couldn't vote
-- Black people couldn't vote

Much like George Carlin's thoughts on abortion and the "sanctitiy of life", I'm just looking for some consistency in the argument...

I knew it! You're nothing but a filthy, filthy quotes-whore! You don't care about LJ at all - you're in it for the fame and glamour that [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes brings. ;P

Don't worry - some of us mere mortals only get two or three mentions a month if we're lucky, and we still manage to live relatively whole lives. ;D

I didn't want to say anything, but I've been having a tawdry affair with [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes for four months. You think it's a coincidence I keep getting on it?

Getting off when in comes to [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes is an entirely different story. My friends list is a much better lay. :)

How stupid, annoying, selfish and flat-out bad is it that I know exactly what you speak of?

two hundred years ago I think I would have been hung for hitting on a white girl. Progress is wonderful, isn't it?

Three hundred years ago, I would have hanged as a witch.

Pick a place and time period, and I would have been flung into a volcano as a virgin sacrifice.

Oh, yeah. Totally diggin' that progress thing.

Well that's what you get for time travelling to 1692 Salem Massachusetts and flicking your Bic, dumbass! You brought it on yourself.

;-).

This last bit should have certainly made metaquotes. Very good stuff, making fun of Scalia.
