OMG, I totally didn't know until I read the TWoP recap just now that Becki Newton (who plays Amanda) played Ruthie (the dorky girl at MYW) in last week's episode of Ugly Betty.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, that is freakin' hilaaaaarious.

Best casting trick ever, huh? I also liked how they echoed the "OH. MY. GOD." reaction that Amanda had, except followed by compliments on Betty's outfit.

Becki Newton is one of my favorite things about that show--I'm all for more Amanda. And more Hilda too. In fact, I could watch Ugly Betty every day and not get sick of it. Loved it since the very first ep.

If I didn't already love Amanda and her catty self, the image of her beating the crap out of Sofia with her purse in the elevator would have sealed it for me. :)

And Justin! And Marc! My two little gay boys! I nearly died when Marc told Justin to be himself, but learn how to run really fast. Because, AWWWW. (I also love the fact that all of his family love him just as he is, and ... and Daniel. When Daniel said Justin had a gift I wanted to give him a great big hug.)

I'm just so in love with this show. It's complete and utter unapologetic camp.

I wonder if it's wrong that that beatdown made me want Amanda with Daniel so freakin' much. And I usually ship Daniel with Betty in my brain, but ZOMG AMANDA YAY!

Though when I write fic, I got for the Daniel/Betty angle, I definitely see the attraction for Daniel and Amanda on the show. I think I would even be thrilled if they ended up together in the end.

Becki Newton is seriously talented, the way she's made her character so damn appealing when she could have been the resident underling bitch.
