An interview with Marcel from Top Chef.

I don't care how annoying he is -- he doesn't deserve half of the shit he's gone through on that show. Trust me on this. I once worked with the most annoying man on the planet. I know.

In other news I came to Panera to relax and it turns out that thanks to the joys of my stomach cramping relaxation isn't happening anytime soon, so it's back home with me as soon as I finish my sandwich. *sigh*

He just comes off as so classy in that interview that I can't imagine what people had/have against him. I mean, I can see how he could be minorly annoying to live with, but come on.

It bothers me that the people on the show seem to go out of their way to treat others like crap. If I didn't know better, I'd say the producers of the show have been telling them to single one person out because it makes better ratings.

It's very telling that during an episode in which Marcel is physically assaulted, not only did Bravo have the nerve to put up a poll with the question, "Who hates Marcel the most?", but they also were cruel enough for one of the options to be, "ME!" Yes, let's have the whole world get involved in hating the guy for what amounts to being as smug as the rest of them. Gee, I wonder why he got whacked in the head with a bottle and had to get thirty stitches for just being himself. *eye roll*

I friended you rather recently, so I never had the pleasure of keeping up with your Captain Asshat entries. So upon reading this post on my friends' page (and agreeing with you that Marcel is, indeed, annoying) I followed the link to your Cpt. Asshat memories.

That was one thoroughly enjoyable half-hour. Your razor-sharp wit and systematic cutting-down (whether verbalized or not) of this idiotic man made my evening. I feel so much better about myself! :D
