For
mcee, because unlike most of the people whom I’ve seen engaging in her default icon drabble meme, my default icon isn’t something fannish, it’s ... you know, a flailing dinosaur. Heh. :)
Anyway, a quick Addison/Alex kidficlet, which I’m sure she’d appreciate more.
****
Sometimes Addison wonders what the hell was wrong with her.
There was no conceivable way she could have raised a child with Mark. Once the poor kid had reached a level of maturity greater than his father, he would have packed a suitcase and stomped out the front door on pudgy little legs without looking back.
You know, if he’d been old enough to walk by then.
But she still doesn’t know why it never occurred to her to end it when the results to the blood test came back the second time around.
I mean, an intern? She had to have been out of her goddamn mind.
But when Abigail spots a familiar face in the halls at Seattle Grace and calls out, “Daddy!”, races towards Alex and lets him swing her up into the air with a chorus of high-pitched giggles, Addison can’t help but smile. Abigail loves it when he dangles her upside down with her long red hair waving back and forth, his arms tight and safe around her. He tells her bad knock-knock jokes and laughs at her stories about the other kids in her kindergarten class and tells her that if that boy on the playground pulls her hair one more time she should punch him in the nose.
And whenever she sees them together Addison always gets the sneaking suspicion that there never really was anything wrong with her at all.
