-- My brother still has no job, although apparently my uncle (who also works there) asked the head of that department why Bryan wasn't there anymore and when they told him how they fucked the kid over he said that they've lost a damn good employee. Which is true -- the kid works his ass off as long as it's not one of my parents asking him to do it.

-- Okay, I caved and watched Top Design. I think I want to keep Goil, much like an adorable little puppy with wild black fur who changes the positioning of the couch when I'm not looking. Also, the room that lost may have looked dumb, but I'm in love with that Chinese wedding bed. Oh, and if that's Todd Oldham's normal speaking voice I may not last the season.

-- Speaking of designing a room, I'm thinking I need to get a futon so I don't have to use the day bed, possibly put an actual bed in the bedroom, and decorate the spare room. Now all I have to do is sell a kidney on the black market and I should have the cash for it.

-- You know what I should have pointed out in that letter I sent to the CW with the Encyclopedia of Heavy Metal? That I know about ten people in my everyday life who are such avid fans of the show that I can get into in-depth conversations about Supernatural with and yet I cannot find one damn person to talk about Heroes with. I don't know what that says about the ratings, but ... *grrrr*.

-- Tomorrow I'm going to the shiny Barnes and Noble in Wilkes-Barre I didn't get to explore for nearly long enough last time and then to the Panera in the next building over to write. WHEE!

-- I really rather desperately want to write that fic where Jo loses her virginity to Ash tonight, but I'm so astoundingly tired I'm going to work on it tomorrow instead. You know, after I make a dent in the Books of Boggs, which I've been slacking on. (I don't think the 750-words-a-day thing works for me half as well as weekly five-thousand-word purges. *shrugs*)

I would totally talk to you about Heroes, but I just haven't found the time to watch anything except the first bits of the pilot yet. But I so wanna watch all the episodes, because it looks so shiny. And it is awesome right?

I like how the employer admitted that they fucked your brother over... that takes balls. Is there no solution to the situation? They could re-hire your brother?

Oddly enough, I know about equal numbers of people who watch SPN and Heroes, and both groups only intersect in myself and one other person.

Interesting. My mother and I both love Heroes, I watch SPN just to keep up with what my online friends are going on about, and I was thinking about starting to show Mom SPN after we finally get around to finishing up with me showing her Torchwood in anticipation of s3 Doctor Who. It's an interesting thought, that since she's a Heroes fan she's maybe somehow disinclined to like SPN. (She didn't like Buffy when I showed her most of s1, either, though she adored Firefly.)

But there is one person on my friends list who adores SPN and is getting into Heroes now as well. Two fans of both counting trollprincess.

Well, there's a few people on my flist that enjoy both, but in RL there's only one friend of mind who watches both and can talk over both with me. And no, I don't think someone that enjoys one wouldn't like the other, though they are very different shows, both in setup, theme, tone, character, and style. If only because they're both very good shows, and anyone who likes their show with and edge of something other and enjoys quality would, very likely, enjoy both.

But that's just my bias, since I love both shows.
