So I had to tell someone that Emmett is a girl (and she's staying an Emmett because ... well, I like that name, damn it, girl or not), so I called my brother and swore him to secrecy.
Bryan: "You mean you didn't figure this out sooner?"
Me: "I mean, I checked and all but I thought she was a boy until I found that extra hole."
Bryan: "Well, what made you look again?"
Me: "Let's just say that Elliot is frighteningly well hung in comparison and I was afraid Emmett was developing a complex."

And while female rodents (well, rats at least) do have that extra hole, it's well-covered except when they're on heat. So it's better to go with "Does the rodent have gigantic testicles? If not, she's a girl," as a general rule.
Oh, and
