-- I get paid tonight! Woo! This is a good thing, as at this particular moment I only have forty-one cents in my checking account.

-- I've been reminded how long it's been since I got a chance to actually sit down and read a book, like a real one with a cover and pages and stuff. I picked up "American Gods" and "Anansi Boys", neither of which I've ever read before, and I have yet to really sit down and read them. I've had a craving for normal-people-with-superhuman-powers novels, too, and I haven't been able to pick any up, either. And I wouldn't be able to even if I had the time, because I've gone from my Remix fic to my Bigbang fic and then there's my Sweet Charity stuff, [livejournal.com profile] boos_hound recaps, [livejournal.com profile] apocalyptothon and the other prompts I have to do. And maybe THEN I can work on original fic. *headdesk*

-- In related news, the [livejournal.com profile] apocalyptothon submissions are due in five days. *pokes people*

-- I really want to take a road trip somewhere and I can't afford to. *pouts* Maybe I'll save up for a couple of weeks and drive down to Philly to the Mutter Museum. Ooo! Maybe I can convince my mom to go with me. *bounces*

-- Only one more night of work for me and then four days off! YAY!

-- I really wish people at work would stop trying to set me up with the guy I drove home from the bowling alley a couple of weeks ago because he was drunk. And the thing is that if he DID ask me out, I probably wouldn't say no, even knowing that neither one of us would take the relationship at ALL seriously because he's younger than I am and kind of a snarky asshole and I couldn't see him having a serious relationship with anything or anyone, really. But he's sure as hell not the type to actually ask, and if this is his way of doing it by getting everybody else to ask it's just annoying (although I highly doubt he's got anything to do with it -- it's not his MO). Besides, with the people at work being bothersome I'm not sure I want to put up with it.

-- The more I read American Idol recaps, the more I understand that my lack of taste in music and my inability to carry a tune is probably a good chunk of the reason why I can't stand that show. I can sew, I was a decent art student, and I can cook and bake, so that certainly explains why I like watching the Bravo creative reality shows. But ... yeah. *shrugs*

and then I sat here wondering if you knew that 'Mutter' is 'mother' in German and that's why you wanted her to go with you... Heh.

Both books are both very good. I shall refrain from any additional comments, so as not to commit spoiler-ism. ::loves on the Gaiman:: I seriously contemplated driving up to his hometown and trying to find him. This was years and years ago, of course. ::innocent eyes::

Oh man, okay. You win. I had 2.34 once. Nice. I need a job. My bank has been taking 5 dollars out of my account each month and we didn't know it. I was all, "... How the hell did I go from 70 dollars to 30 - OH FUCK YOU."

Ooh, American Gods. So much with the goodness. Weird, but damn cool.

*Neil Gaiman fan* I have much love for both of those. You've read Good Omens already, right?

I can sing decently enough, and I've been in choirs... but I still find American Idol a steaming pile of dog turds.

I just hate reality shows in general, particularly ones that are little more than popularity contests run and voted on by small-minded fantwits. : P

But having no taste in music and an inabillity to sing virtually garuntees you a slot on Idol!

My friends dragged me there twice. Once for a Lewis & Clarke exhibit that involved frost bitten feet (bleh). And then for the siamese twin exhibit. Not the place for a girl like me of the queasy variety - though I think I did provide entertainment for all the museum goers.
