Walking into Target in painted-on jeans, black high-heeled boots and a pretty pink top looking damn good and seeing Cute Guy With Girlfriend and Baby walking out of the store with said girlfriend (who has a reputation for being a bit of a raging hag) while she's looking like a sloppy, unwashed bitchy mess twice my weight.

And then going in and buying extra-small pajama bottoms and a size-6 pink skirt. BECAUSE THEY FIT.

I'm generally not catty about being skinny, but sometimes it totally warrants it. *beams*

Ways in which I fail at fandom: I have yet to see a full episode of either Friday Night Lights or Life On Mars (and I do plan to watch both when I get the time to watch 'em). Meanwhile I watched all of Top Design even though it sucks and am now watching Shear Genius's premiere. (HA! The premise might suck but the judges for this show are so fabulously bitchy. Also, DR. BOOGIE. Seriously, that may never stop making me smile. EDIT: I'm quickly realizing that while I'm not sure I like the premise, I adore the contestants.)

*pokes friends list*

I'm procrastinating. Wanna ask me a question? :)

You for the win, you catty bitch, you! \o/

Question?
Um, why on Earth should I watch 'Ugly Betty'?

I so win in the hotness contest! SCORE. :)

Oh, my God, Ugly Betty is SO MUCH FUN. It's all the best things about a soap opera but, like, times a thousand. I mean, there's catty bitches and pretty clothes and all of the characters are awesome, even the evil ones (hell, ESPECIALLY the evil ones). Plus, under all of the delightful cheese the relationships between everyone on the show are just so REAL.

And Daniel and Betty seriously have one of the best friendships on television. I mean, yes, he's her boss and she's the assistant but they both understand each other's true value and in the world they circulate in both of them don't really have that with too many people.

Plus, JUSTIN. One of the best characters on television, bar none. (I was going to say the best gay character on TV but he's still a kid and I think it would be hilaaaaaious and maybe a little bit true to life if they showed his future and he totally turned out to be a complete manwhore with the ladies. Because hey, you never know. ;))

Awesome.

Question: can I have your body?
OK, real question: If I don't really like comedy and have an active humiliation squick, will I be able to watch Ugly Betty?
And bonus question: You are going to watch Friday Night Lights over the summer, right?

1. Well, I'm kinda using it at the moment. *giggles*

2. Hmm. I want to say just try the first episode and see if you like it, but there's a humiliation plotline that's a major part of it (although it all works out in the end). It's definitely not as bad as The Office on that count, but still.

3. Oh, my god, definitely. I'd watch it right now if it weren't for the fact that I barely have time to watch the shows I'm already watching. :(

I actually wondered the same thing about that show, because The Office makes me physically uncomfortable to watch at times.

What is your fave article of clothing that you own and why?

What is your fave article of clothing that you've seen Jensen or Jared wear and why?

Yes, I'm Lame.

Mine's this cute little white-and-black skirt that I own that's like THE girly skirt. It's like the epitome of a spring skirt. Plus, you know that line from Jerry Maguire, "That's not a dress, that's an Audrey Hepburn movie"? This thing comes DAMN close to being exactly that. PRETTY. *pets it*

As for Jared, pretty much any pink shirt ever. It's like, "I'm secure enough in my masculinity to know I look fucking HOT in pink."

And I like Jensen's punk look for Ten Inch Hero, even though the lighting's terrible on the promo photo. He just looks so normal. I mean, I don't meet guys as hot as Jensen in real life but I've met plenty of punk guys.

You know, you're totally right about Jensen looking so normal. That must've been why I was so shocked, other than from the blueness and the eyeliner... He looks like a pretty normal guy in the pic, and well, it's just wow.

And the Jared pink shirt thing? hee.

Miaow, wenchy one.

*hands you cream*

Better obey the spoiler cut I'll be posting when I do my Life On Mars summation, then. I dare say you'll have it figured out before the end, though.

"She as nervous as a very short nun at a penguin shoot!" Fortunately there will be more Gene Hunt in the sequel series.

I feel asleep Wed. night and have yet to catch a rerun. Who won Top Design?

Date: 2007-04-13 09:52 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] apocalypsos.livejournal.com
Matt, thank GOD. If Carisa had won I probably would have punched someone.

And for the record, so far I think Shear Genius is soooo worth watching. I mean, I'm not into the hairstyling thing but at the same time the casting is fabulous. The contestants they've gotten are really great, and the judges are WAY bitchy. Jaclyn Smith was awesome, and if the same woman who was co-hosting with her is co-hosting every week it's going to be GREAT -- she had no problem being completely forthright and bitchy about the problems in everyone's hairstyles but everything she said made sense and the person picked to leave really deserved to go. After a season of crappy judging on Top Design I was stunned. Oh, yeah, THIS is what a reality show is supposed to look like.

Thank you. And cool. I was wondering if Shear Genius was going to be worth my time.

We caught the Shear Genius rerun tonight, too! Hee! Jess and I both agreed that we're not sure about the premise, but teh contestants are awesome. Though, much as his hairstyle sucked, I hated to see the bitchy queen leave so early! Also, their little Tim Gunn has an ass you could bounce a quarter off of. Or as Jess put it: "I approve of this product and/or service and would like to subscribe to the newsletter."

I'd like to know what it is you like about House!
(I already like it, but it's good to know what other people see in it.)

When you say "painted-on jeans," are you speaking metaphorically or literally? I've seen body painting good enough that the recipients of the art went out in public stark naked other than paint and didn't attract any undue attention; if you're doing *that* in Target I think you need a better venue.

best,

Joel
