I've never even heard of The Day After Tomorrow, but this is so my kind of movie. Total destruction, armageddon, dogs and cats living together ...

And okay, the wave-hitting-New-York-City thing was done in "Deep Impact," but I can forgive because I loved that part. And also, big honking snowbank. Nuff said.

Whee! Everybody's going to die!

Um, I think I get waaaaaay too much pleasure out of end-of-the-world movies.

Ooo, and IMDb says Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal are in it. Yum.

I must see that movie! I loved Deep Impact a lot. I especially liked that, for the most part at least, they actually listened to their technical/science consultants.

I loved "Deep Impact", especially since it didn't piss me off half as much as "Armageddon" did. I was so annoyed it didn't make as much money.

I mean, come on! Great special effects! Morgan Freeman as President! Elijah Wood as hero! What's not to love?

What's not to love?

Tea Leoni, who can't act her way out of a paper bag.

I HATE Armageddon. I'm a space geek and the only things they got right in that movie were that the earth is a planet, asteroids exist, and one might conceivably crash into earth. Beyond that, nothing.

Did you know that if you speed up every slow-motion scene in Armageddon to normal, the entire movie is only six minutes long?

You know what's another movie that drove me nuts? Independence Day. Not that I don't enjoy it when I watch it -- Will Smith will improve most anything for me -- but the one scene towards the end, when the Americans figure out how to beat the aliens and start contacting others around the planet, and all of the others (in fact, one person literally says at one point), "Thank God! Took 'em long enough!"

Yes, because if the world is invaded by aliens, everyone else is going to wait for us to figure out what to do.

That looks like a killer movie.

They need to release it sooner, though. lol
I'm going to have to go from the final Matrix to that? That's way too damn long.
