But it's not! We get another season! THAT'S THE BEST PART.

EDIT: What really gets me is that here we have Supernatural, which had decent chances of coming back, preparing the season finale of their show in such a way that it could be a series finale -- and yet it totally works to carry over into another season now -- whereas I don't get nearly the same vibe from the upcoming season finale of Veronica Mars, which had worse chances of being renewed than Supernatural ever did. (Well, REALLY.)

Yes! They brought back Sammy in a way that was believable and they wrapped it up perfectly if it was going to be a series finale but left enough good stuff to continue the series.
I was so anxious to watch it after last week but I was also scared that it would leave us with an ending as cliffhangery and evil as last weeks.

I freaking clapped and cheered towards the end, and damnit, I felt *satisfied*. There's still stuff to do, and good stuff to deal with next year, but if it went out tonight, with never another episode to see...there was sufficient conclusion to the main threads to make me smile anyways.

Yes. Yes. That, right there is how you write a season finale. I have so much to say on it, and yet none of it's coming out. Mostly, I just love this creative team - they seem to have a good handle on having fun with the show and just making good television. Sure, nothing's particularly new, but they're consistent and solid and have a good grasp of how to balance an arc with standalone episodes.
