apocalypsos: (good people do nothing!)

-- Oh, thank GOD. I think my writer's block is crumbling away -- *knocks on wood* -- but I'm going to try and finish the one story I'm working on right now before going back and answering comments on Cast Stones At Dragons. Because I am, good God, considering I feel like absolute shite when I don't answer comments. So now's as good a time as any to get back into the habit of it. *cracks knuckles*

-- I don't watch The Sopranos (mob stuff's never interested me at ALL, which may be why I've never sat through any of the Godfather movies), but I feel like I'm being a real snot every time I read people's reactions. It's just, the first recap or reaction I read to the finale was TWoP's, and my immediate reaction was, "Well, of course he died." Not that I hadn't thought he would -- I mean, how else do you end that show?

On the other hand, while I do like the abrupt-lights-out version, I'm not sure if it worked in context. From what I read, the entire episode wasn't seen from Tony's point of view, and I think that's what makes me uneasy about an ending that I genuinely like. I mean, okay, maybe it was his POV in that scene, but still. It seems like if there's a way to make that confusing, that's the way to do it. If you set the entire episode from Tony's POV -- only stuff that he's seeing, only his feelings and emotions and responses and whatnot -- then when the lights go out, HIS lights go out. When it's not set that way, thousands of people think their power just went out.

Or something. I don't know. Like I said, I don't even watch, although I do like knowing what happens in series finales even if I don't actually watch the shows. Go figure.

-- I bought a whole bunch of lunch stuff this week for work, including the makings for roast beef hoagies, so let's see how this turns out. If I don't bring money and just bring food, I figure I should be okay and not tempted to buy crap I don't want and waste money, particularly considering we usually go to Sheetz on lunch and the only thing I end up buying is a roast beef hoagie.

-- Speaking of not having any cash, still no unemployment check. I really need to call them up and be all, "Dude, the hell?" That's supposed to pay my cable bill, damn it.

My way of saving money, making puppy eyes at my housemate and making him go shopping for me to buy milk, pleading revision as my reason for being unable to leave the house. If I don't go into town, I can't spend money. Except for on the internet...which is still a problem ;)
