Oh, give me a break.
Jul. 3rd, 2007 06:33 pmSo Isaiah Washington was on Larry King making an ass out of himself all over again (Dear Isaiah's publicist ... Oh, you poor thing! Do you need a drink? A massage? A hit taken out on your client?) and ONTD's talking about it again, leading me to want to vent about one of my biggest pet peeves about the George/Izzie storyline. (And no, it's not that it exists.)
If I have to hear, "What would a hot former model see in HIM?!" again, I'm going to scream.
First of all, watch a few episodes of Runway Moms. All these gorgeous women having babies with these guys who, for the most part, are normal average-looking guys. There aren't a lot of them who are involved with guys who are former models or nearly as hot as they are. His looks have nothing to do with why she might like him in that way.
Second of all, Sara Ramirez is a hotass. Katie and Sara are both ridiculously hot, but any bisexual tendencies I have lean firmly towards brunettes with curves, so with Callie O'Malley, so goes my nation. So asking why a woman like Izzie would have anything to do with George while gleefully ignoring that Callie is freaking amazing-looking bugs me.
*seethes*

I was supposed to write today and instead I took a nap. *sigh* I'm just going to sleep through the entire weekend, aren't I?

Date: 2007-07-03 10:56 pm (UTC)Apparently, now he's saying that when he said "faggot" he wasn't talking about TR (so that makes it okay!) and when he did use it he did mean "gay person," he meant, "someone who's weak." So that makes it even okay-er! *eye roll*

Date: 2007-07-04 12:37 am (UTC)He spends, oh, a good three-quarters of the interview going on about how the first incident had NOTHING to do with T.R. and whoever went to the Enquirer just made all that shit up, and then he says this about a conversation he had with T.R.:
I said you know if anything, the only reason I brought your name into this is because I felt like I was defending you against some bullying.
Mr. Washington, your pants are on fire.
(To your other point, I will TOTALLY PUT A BOOT UP THE ASS of whoever does not recognize the hotness of Callie.)

Date: 2007-07-04 01:20 am (UTC)There's a part of me that really just wants to say, "Oh, my God, SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP." But on the other hand, I'm dying of curiosity to find out what bullshit excuse he's going to come up with next to make him look that much more idiotic.

Date: 2007-07-04 01:27 am (UTC)The really funny part is that *George* does this, on the show. To his wife's face. *facepalm*
And I'm torn between regret at missing the inevitable insanity of the Isaiah interview and being glad that I didn't waste my time watching a stupid interview.

Date: 2007-07-05 10:25 pm (UTC)When they went with that in the show, I was a little disgusted. Because here you have George, who has been shown to be a people-orientated, sees-beneath-the-surface kind of guy. (As shown, imo, by the fact that he was best friends with Izzie in the first place, I think, and didn't once try to get with her, no matter what some people say about there being George/Izzie "hints" in the first two seasons.) He rarely objectifies, seems to see all the women he works with as they are, both mentally and physically, and treats them all as equal friends. So when George all of a sudden talks about how he "never had a chance" with Izzie because she's hot, it just struck me as INCREDIBLY out of character. He clearly thought he had a chance with Meredith, who is equally as attractive. He obviously had a chance with Callie, also just as attractive.
Maybe if there had been background -- say, George is nervous around models, haha, he and Izzie joked about it earlier, blah --, it wouldn't have been so random. But it was the George/Izzie storyline, so of course there wasn't set-up for any of the stuff that happened. [not bitter at all]
