This post on the reaction of some fans to female characters sums up how I feel about a lot of the behavior I see. Jo is a perfect example of this -- it's one thing to dislike her as a character, it's another thing to spout that "Jo is a ho" crap about a character whose only sexual behavior on the show involved flirting with Dean (unless you count wearing tight jeans and tank tops as slutty behavior, in which case which planet do you live on and why are there not twenty-year-old girls there?).

xmmficathon signups are open, and I'm not doing it this year. Which sucks, because the last two years I've turned out two stories I'm really proud of, and yet there's no way in hell I'm signing up for anything else when I've got so much stuff on my plate right now.

I feel awful, not just physically (God knows I've spent most of the past four days trying to sleep off my on-and-off nausea) but because I've been letting my original fic lag. I've got ideas for the new story I've been planning out and the Books of Boggs just needs to be pried out of my head with a crowbar, and yet when I sit in front of my laptop I feel lethargic and draw a mental blank. I'm making a little headway on my fanfic, at least -- my apocalyptothon fic is halfway done, and now I've got my Sweet Charity assignments pretty much lined up. But still. *sigh*

Ah, nice, thanks for the link. It *is* annoying, how some people just...gah. Get so freakin' *catty*, to use a cliche. I remember some comment directed at an 'on screen for ten seconds or less' fc on SPN and how she was a 'slut' for flirting with Dean. Um? Dean's flirting, too. Doesn't that make *him* slutty?

Grow up, people - the boys - any boys - are not going to come to your house and date you. Stop acting like a jealous twelve year old.
