I took Emmett up to my parents' house so that my dad could bury her ('cause if you'll remember, Emmett was the boy chinchilla my parents got me when I moved in who turned out to be a girl) and now I'm watching Elliot, who seems mostly okay, and I'm thinking, "Well, crap, poor thing just lost his best friend." When I figured out Emmett was a girl I was going to separate them, except they freaked out when they were separated and wanted to share the same cage. And when I found her he was hiding in the bathhouse like he didn't want to come out. *sigh*
Oh, and for added fun when I went up to my parents' house with the chinchilla my brother was there, and to make me feel better he made me lunch, and as we were sitting in the living room watching Scrubs and eating, Simon -- one of my mom's cats -- walked through the room stumbling around like he was drunk, foaming at the mouth, and randomly shitting all over the place on his way upstairs. And if there was any worse time to run out of paper towels, I don't know what was. (I don't know if my mom's going to make me take him to the vet when I take the kitten tomorrow or if she's going to take him herself tonight or if she's going to make my brother take him, but since he pretty obviously ate something he shouldn't have he may get over it by tomorrow. Who the hell knows?)
Thank God I still have one hard green tea left, is all I can say.
*grumbles*
On a funnier note, another thing my brother did to make me feel better (you know, before the whole cat incident) was declare, "Hey, you want to hear the greatest song ever made?" and proceeded to play something on his computer that had me dying laughing.
Me: *in between giggles* You know this is going on my Livejournal, right?
Bryan: Yup. *beams*

Date: 2007-07-10 04:57 pm (UTC)I hope things turn out well with your mom's kitty. Could he be epileptic?

Date: 2007-07-10 05:04 pm (UTC)I doubt he's epileptic -- knowing him and considering how long we've had him, it's a lot more likely he ate something he shouldn't.

Date: 2007-07-10 05:37 pm (UTC)We found our chinnie likes ice cubes, by the way. He'll try and pick them up, then end up holding them against the floor and biting pieces off. They seem to help him a bit, at least.
