Thanks to my best friend ...

... I'm going to do something tomorrow that will completely date this icon. And no, it's not a neck tattoo.
See, Jess is getting her hair cut tomorrow. She has been growing it out for two years and she will Not. Stop. Angsting. Seriously, I have never seen anybody get this het up over cutting off what may be amounts to six inches of hair.
So last night she's all, "Oh, woe is me, I'm getting all my hair lopped off!" and I said, "Dude, I used to do that ALL THE TIME." And now it's stuck in my head, and all I can think about now is how it takes me an hour and a half every other day to do my hair, and how it's been chin- to shoulder-length for a while, and I really could use a change and have no problem chopping it all off.
So I'm getting this done to my hair tomorrow. (I was going to do it today but I went shopping this morning and it was either sleep or get my hair done, so sleep won.) This way I've still got some length on the top but the rest of it is short and off my neck.
I really wish I had been able to get it cut today, though. I really wanted to come in to work tonight with my hair short. I don't think I was raised with quite the right amount of hair-cutting sympathy. Besides, my cousin cut off about a foot and a half of hair once to give to Locks of Love. You know what? She wins.
In other news I'm really going to get more than five seconds to sit down and respond to comments tomorrow. WEEKEND! WOOT! (Well, my weekend. Oh, these thirty-six hour pay weeks are somewhat made up for by the fact that I end up with most of everybody else's work week off and can taunt all of you about drinking and watching porn in my PJs while you're at work. ;))

Date: 2007-07-16 08:43 pm (UTC)But it's my nice long hair! It's quite hard to part with it. ^_^
Of course, more of my angsting is having no idea what to do with it if I do cut half or more of it off.
That is an adorable haircut that you picked, though. :)

Date: 2007-07-16 08:50 pm (UTC)Sorry. It's just my personal preference that women have long hair.
My niece does the Locks of Love donations too. She's had like 12 inches cut off twice; and her hair has never gotten above her shoulders.

Date: 2007-07-18 04:32 pm (UTC)Really I just have long hair because I'm too lazy to cut it more than once every year or two, and my hair grows so fast that bangs spend most of their time long enough to curl aside from my glasses unattractively. So I go for all-one-length and down to my waist or longer, and I can just braid it back in the morning and then ignore it for the rest of the day.
