-- The next time my mom calls me at one o'clock in the afternoon I'm going to threaten to call her at one in the morning one day just to see if she likes it.

-- I don't think my money situation is as dire as I thought it was even taking into account that I left work early last night, but I do think there's no way in hell I'm going to be able to do anything more than sit in my house and stare at a wall for three straight weeks if I don't go to a temp agency tomorrow. And I really don't want to do that because our little town carnival thing is in two weeks and I at least want to be able to buy junk food.

-- I still have to answer my email. I spent most of today asleep and what little time I was awake trying to put a dent in my Pulse recap.

-- You can tell I'm trying to save cash because I've dug into my ramen supply for tonight's dinner. *sigh*

I have a recipe somewhere that's basically a how to make Ramen noodles more interesting sort of thing. I haven't tried it yet, but I'll look for it if you want.

God, you remind me of me. For some unknown reason, my dad never quite seems to get that noon is *not* an acceptable time to call me on my day off. I'll be grumpy, and probably bitchy, and in all likelihood I won't remember a word you say to me. At least not till I've been awake for about ten minutes. If I've been up till seven in the morning, then at least let me sleep till two. Seriously.

Then again, my mother insists on calling me at 7:30 a.m., but . . . that's just so wrong that I can't even start in on it. Good luck on your temp job!

When I was working funny hours I kept the ringer on the phone in my bedroom turned off -- so I could hear the ringing from the rest of the house, but not loudly enough to wake me up if I wasn't already. Had issues when I eventually got a cellphone, though, because it wasn't like I could ever remember to turn it back on if I shut it off, so I started getting those calls waking me up after five hours of sleep again.

Yeah, I actually do that sleep-with-the-cellphone-next-to-the-pillow thing. I've had one too many family/friend emergencies where I couldn't be reached, so now I just sacrifice the sleep for the comfort of knowing I can answer if I need to.

Not to say I'll *like* answering, just to say I can actually hear the phone. Yeah.

Yeah, I work night shift too. There is nothing worse then people calling in the middle of the sleep schedule - especially people who should know better.

Good luck with the money situation

Good luck, with the saving.

Can you just turn off your phone ringer while you sleep? Let any calls go to voice mail.
