-- You know how long it took me to realize there was no Hiro in that episode?
-- Oh, man, I get why Claire's all over West, but at the same time, EW. On some level I'm very much concerned by the fact that he is very skeevy and more than a little creepy, and on a more superficial level I'm blown away by the fact that he leaves his house dressed that badly in California and is allowed to live. Never have I seen a teenage boy who more silently screams that he's wearing tighty-whities, tube socks, and a V-neck undershirt under every outfit he wears, and all of them were bought by his mom.
-- Okay, so. The photo:

Featuring: (top l-r) Some blonde chick we don't know, Linderman, Mr. Petrelli , Mama Petrelli, Kaito Nakamura, Bob, some other brunette we don't know, Matt's dad; (bottom l-r) Another woman we haven't met, Charles Deveaux, some slimy guy with a thin mustache (hidden under Nathan's hand), some other guy with white hair (also hidden).
What I get from that picture:
1.) Anybody else find it telling that Mr. Petrelli still hasn't been shown, is the only blurry person in that picture, and is looking to his left? Theories, people!
2.) Speaking of theories, I was fully expecting Nichelle Nichols to be in that photo. She's certainly not the person in the front on the far right unless she's dressed in men's slacks, so that leaves her off.
3.) You know, considering a lot of these people supposedly fell out years ago, why are they all in the same pretty-recently-taken picture together?
4.) I had a thought that one of the unknown women in the back row is Niki/Jessica's mom. And that slimy-guy-we-don't-know was Sylar's dad.
5.) Okay, I just find it weird that blurry Mr. Petrelli and Mr. Bennet look a lot alike.
-- That photo of Peter and Nathan leaning against one another wearing tuxes that Nathan was looking at? Anybody else think, "Aw, it was so nice of Nathan to take Pete to his prom when he couldn't get a date"?
-- Uh, Bennet, maybe you're not getting this whole not-keeping-secrets thing. Maybe it's something in that household, like that it's okay to keep a secret just as long as it's going to save someone's life, or that it's okay not to tell someone something if you consider it perfectly innocuous like it's wrong for Claire to wear white after Labor Day or that Mom should stop practically making out with Mr. Muggles or that you're going to the Ukraine to hunt for prophetic paintings by a dead man. I mean, really, how important is that?
-- Micah is the most adorable little woobie on the planet. Just had to be said.
-- Speaking of characters I'm currently in love with, Monica may be my new favorite. I think I identify with her way too much. No money, crappy job, all stressed out, trying to go back to school and worried about how to pay for it ... HI, ME. Although if I were her and I started figuring this whole thing out I would totally go directly to Micah and say, "Bring me all of the cable in the land! Mwahahahaha!" You just know that's a power begging for crackfic to be written about it, though. "I accidentally watched an Energizer commercial and now I cannot stop moving."
-- Sylar, anytime you want to kill Maya and Alejandro, I don't think anyone will complain. Just not in the face, okay? Currently, their only saving grace appears to be bein' damn pretty.
-- I bet there's cutting-room footage of Adair Tischler interrupting a Matt-Molly-Mohinder scene by yelling, "Mommy, Daddy, stop fighting!" And then mock crying.
... what? Just because I stop arguments that way, no one else can?

Date: 2007-10-17 01:47 am (UTC)Nathan's photo collection was tres adorable and elicited joint squee when watching, as did the ever-increasing domesticity of Matt and Mohinder. (The friend I was watching it nudged me and whispered "Oh no, she's going to be traumatised because she overheard her parents bickering! That and her other parents were brutally murdered by Sylar.") Monica is indeed cute on a stick.

Date: 2007-10-17 02:13 am (UTC)And who says that has to be Claire anyway? It wasn't her the last time, and how many blonde women do we have on the show this season? I mean, really.

Date: 2007-10-17 02:20 am (UTC)True! There's plenty of them floating around including Eye-Roll-Spoiler of DOOM. Who, heh, could be working for Daddy Petrelli.

Date: 2007-10-17 04:29 am (UTC)And, yes, I know wrestling. Kill me.
But I think I've decided that, on the list of all of the powers we've seen so far, doesn't photographic reflexes have to be in your top five? watch someone do something, and you suddenly know how to do it? and is it a possibility that Monica could "learn" some of the other powers if they're physical and not mental? Like maybe watch Peter phase or shoot electricity, and her mind sees how the molecules react and suddenly poof?
Okay, I'm getting ahead of myself.
Sylar killed the only interesting person in that car.

Date: 2007-10-17 10:50 am (UTC)It was funny because this past weekend, my roommate and I were floating various theories about Heroes-related things and I mentioned that I thought it was interesting we hadn't seen Matt or Niki's parents yet. Because we were trying to figure out who the other subjects of the 8 paintings could be and with Nakamura, Linderman and Charles Deveaux already dead and Papa Petrelli assumed dead... I automatically turned to other parents on the show.
I'm digging the theory that the painting was about Papa Petrelli not Papa Bennet though. And seriously, we have no shortage of young blondes on the show.
I adore Monica and I'm loving the Micah stuff. Who needs Niki? I have to confess I didn't miss Hiro this episode. His story is starting to bore me.
I also actually liked Nathan this episode, which rarely happens for me.
But zomg Peter and I'm too squeeful about the promo for next week :)
