... in every way, shape and form. *hearts it so*

Anyway, I'm watching 100 Scariest Movie Moments (yes, again, it's a Halloween tradition for me now, damn it), which ... let's face it, isn't a list of scary movie moments, just scary movies. So here I am, posting the scene that probably scared me more than any other scene ever. It's from Exorcist III, and for a fairly lame movie it was worth it for this one damn shot, even if it is sort of a cheap scare and even though I haven't seen the whole scene since I first watched the movie. (What? It scares the fuck out of me, 'kay?)

Feel free to go check Youtube and post the movie scenes that have scared you more than anything ever in the comments. Scary-as-fuck free-for-all! :)

And now for another even cheaper scare ... ;)

My aunt gave me a clown doll right before I saw that movie. Needless to say my parents took it away not long after. :)

Aaaaaaaaah, this was SO GROSS. Ugh. UGH.

OH! OH! It's not as shocking as this, really, but when she turns around and all the chairs are on the table? I think I jumped about four feet straight up.

It's been 25 years [god, the movie is that old...and I'm even older] and I still can't look at that scene above. Nor the scene involving the chicken.

The chair scene had me reacting like the mom. I thought it was kinda cool.

Man, I loved watching Exorcist 3 in a theater. A theaterful of people, all going, "AAGHH!"

I went to see a midnight showing of it with my best friend, her little brothers, and her mom when it first came out. Her mom was awesome. :)

I'll bite -- but I dunno how to imbed a video. Because I'm lame. ::cheesy grin:: I know exactly what has scared me shitless in the past, if I can find the clips.

When you find the videos click the link for "More Info" to the right of the video clip and the HTML for embedding it is right there. :)

All righty, then. I couldn't actually find THE SCENE but this one will do. It all scares me deliciously. ::shiver::

I really wanted to find a couple of scenes from the first movie -- which scared me more than any movie before or since -- but the second one was pretty damn tense, too. ::loves:: First movies I bought when I got my DVD player. *g*

I was glad Bravo included the boat scene from Willy Wonka, because it's all freaky as shit.

I've been watching all these sorts of specials because I don't really enjoy watching horror flicks, but I like knowing about them as a film buff (and some I'm now more interested in seeing... especially because I've seen a presentation on Giallo films in addition). Unfortunately one film they mentioned that is more my style, I'm now totally spoiled for (The original "The Vanishing").

retroCrush's list also included the Pink Elephant hallucination from Dumbo. Which I agree with completely - that shit was FUCKED UP for a kids movie.

Moments after seeing the Exorcist III scene in my apartment in college (so, like 2am) my roommate came home and went straight to her room wearing this white flowy thing.. I freaked. It still gets me.

OK this seems very silly now (and it shows how old I am lol) but this movie scared the CRAP out of me when I was a kid...

And does anyone remember a 1970's made for tv movie that involved voices whispering in the basement fireplace? I remember it ended with the wife becoming one of the voices... I thought it was "Don't go in the basement" but that's definitely not it.

and just for grins and giggles, here's the ending... still creeps me out!

When I was quite little someone must have showed me Pee Wee's Big Adventure, but for a long time I assumed I'd seen some horror movie because all I remembered about it was that scene and being completely terrified out of my wits by it.

And then later I worked out what movie it was from and was very confused and a little bit ashamed. Even though it's still terrifying.

I don't do well with scary movies. The things that scared me most are therefore all really tame and not worth posting.

I can't find my personal Scary Movie Moment on YouTube, but: from the House on Haunted Hill remake, which was otherwise unexceptional in every way, there's this one scene where Geoffrey Rush's character is locked in some, I dunno, schizophrenia-curing chamber or something. Or that's what it's supposed to be. And the lights go out and these weird images start flashing around him, and one of them is a guy with a briefcase and a creepy smile, and he just stands there and smiles and for some reason that scared the shit out of me.

Maybe my real phobia is men with briefcases?
