Dear Diamond Nuts,
Thanks for telling me that the recipe for candied walnuts on your site won't give me the same walnuts in the McDonald's Fruit And Walnut Salad. Now do you mind telling me where I can get them?
Jeez, I just want a great big bag of those fuckers. Too much to ask? Strangely enough, I don't think so. *headdesk*
Sincerely,
Me

I'm going to have to give Otis a lecture on how hard it is for me to type when he crawls into my lap in the butterfly chair and curls up right on top of my left arm. *sigh*

Oh, and I also think I backed myself into an oh-so-fun corner by changing my NaNo idea at the last minute, BUT that I should be able to catch up next week. But, you know, next week. Overtime is sooooo out of the question next week if I want to do this. ARGH.

McD's recipe
Date: 2007-11-01 04:42 pm (UTC)1 teaspoon honey
2 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
Combine peanut oil, honey, sugar, vanilla and salt in a medium skillet over medium heat. When the mixture begins to bubble, add the walnuts and stir constantly until the walnuts begin to caramalize(they may start smoking too). Quickly turn off the heat and keep stirring so they don't burn. After stirring for a minute or so, pour the walnuts onto a plate. Toss the nuts so they won't stick together.
