There will be writing tonight and God willing at least some of it'll be fanfic. I do have my [livejournal.com profile] yuletide to work on (and the booze I'll need to write it) and another fic idea I've been playing with, and then there's the Journeyman fic idea that will not leave my brain and which Jess keeps thoroughly encouraging me to write -- Livia "leaping" while stuck in a Japanese internment camp. I know Moon is of Korean descent but I don't know if that's how they're going to play Livia as well, and she'd have gone back (assuming it was earlier than 1948) to a time with some huge anti-Japanese sentiment, and if there were a mix-up or something thanks to her being a foster kid ... *shrugs* I don't know why the hell my brain wants me to write something so depressing when I'm still a wee bit blocked. Although I will say that this section in the Wikipedia article --

Upon the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Presidential Proclamations 2525 (Japanese), 2526 (German) and 2527 (Italian) were signed. Many homes were raided using information from the CDI, and hundreds of aliens were in custody by the end of the day, including Germans and Italians (although war was not declared on Germany or Italy until December 11). Presidential Proclamation 2537 was issued on January 14, 1942, requiring aliens to report any change of address, employment or name to the FBI. Enemy aliens were not allowed to enter restricted areas. Violators of these regulations were subject to "arrest, detention and internment for the duration of the war."

-- is NOT HELPING. 'Cause, really, I could totally work with that.

(I think what's deterring me most right now is stupid little stuff like fashion and music and slang and cultural status more than anything else. Aw, I hate research. *grumps*)

And also:

Adios, Carmen! I didn't really like you much anyway.

Dude, Tiki Barber? Still hot. Mmmm. Also hot -- his wife. Damn, that's a whole lot of pretty in one marriage.

Yay for Jack! And I'm starting to adore Steven. He's hilarious. And I think I like Elisa as well. What? She may be a complete and total fruitcake but there's not a mean bone in her body. Plus, she's always smiling. If she's not going to be bitchy, I think I'll just enjoy the quirkiness.

My favorite piece was Kit's jacket. I was a little iffy on the fleece until I saw it on the runway but I adored it.

god help me, the two I thought were going to drive me batty (Christian and Elisa) are actually two of my favorites as of this ep. I mean, I don't like Christian's designs, like, at ALL, but he's such an adorable little diva! And Elisa, well, she's just kind of sweet and her smile is so pretty.

I'm rewatching the ep right now and it suddenly occurred to me that the first ship to hit me hardcore all season is Jack and Christian. Jack carries him into the workroom! And says, "Ladies first!" before holding the door open for him! And compliments his sewing speed! I mean, Christian's a little punk but he's become so damn cute about it.

And Elisa -- there's just no malice there, you know? She's a complete flake and a nut of the highest order but she's always smiling (and looks exactly like one of my best friends in high school when she does, too), she's willing to take advice, and when she gets dinged for her eccentric behavior she just looks so sad I want to hug her. Aww. (Oh, please don't secretly turn out to be a bitch, Elisa! *hugs*)

And see, the thing is? She's insane, there's no doubt that she's, um, unique to a high degree, but the first horrible failed dress aside (and really, I would have loved that if she'd finished it and left that godsawful train off) I've really liked her stuf, and have found myself actually looking forward to seeing what she does in future eps.

*laughs* I haven't really started shipping anyone this season, but I wouldn't be opposed to a bit of genfic where Elisa and SweetP hang out. Or, you know, not so genfic where they make out. And Elisa talks about the movement of the stars determining that she's cycling out of her heteronormative and monogamous stage and into a more free and sexually exploring stage, and SweetP just like, kisses her to shut her up. Um. Not that I've thought about this or anything. Much.

I know, right? Her outfits are actually pretty decent -- hell, the SJP dress was my favorite one all season. I'd so totally wear that ALL THE TIME, and that cape was to die for.

Um. We as a fandom desperately need to start writing fic for this season. Mmm-hmm.

You know what is keeping Elisa from being insane and turning into Angela? I'll bet it's the yoga. And wasn't it completely adorable how she couldn't even look at the hot, nearly nude model in front of her? I'll bet you her husband totally boinked the hell out of her when this episode aired.

She's just so polite and sweet. I mean, crazy as bugfuck, yes, but an adorable nuts. I loved how her model said, "I want to go into ethnobotany," all hopeful and a little nervous like he was used to the, "Wait, what?!", reaction, but Elisa just grinned and was all, "Keep talking."
