I swear, one of the things I adore most about the show is that they have two fabulous singers in their cast and the perfect forum to let them work their magic, and they DO and I love the scenes where Kristen Chenoweth (and her awesome rack) and Ellen Greene get to sing SO MUCH.
You know, I never watched all of the second episode - it was just so... whimsical and cloying and cute that I couldn't stand it - so I missed Olive's first musical number. And then everyone kept squeeing about the show, so I figured I'd give it another try, fell in love, and got hooked. I am downloading episode 2 when I get home this morning, because dude, this show? Is AWESOME.
The framing of the shot where the shadow of rain on the window runs down Lily's face just... *INCOHERENT FLAIL* My love for this show cannot be textually rendered. It's like eye- and earcandy for the SOUL. It's PIE FOR THE SOUL.
One of the many things to love about this show is its wonderful use of characters of different generations. Far too many other shows like this would only use recurring older characters as authority figures or mentors. But Pushing Daisies dares to give its older generation arcs of thier own. Even this early in.
When the first ep was finished, I didn't really expect the aunts to be as much in the show as they've been. It was a nice surprise that they do keep coming back.

[I love how Vivian and/or Olive get to sing in every other episode!]
