Supposedly I only have to work six hours tonight. Yay! It had better be only six hours, because I have a feeling I'm not going to get much sleep today.

Speaking of, two questions:

- Jess gave me her iPod to fill with music. I have iTunes on my laptop but I've never hooked up an iPod to it, just my Zen. It's not going to do something like make it blow up or delete all the music if I try to put music on it, is it? (Not that I'm really worried about it deleting all the music -- there's only about thirty songs on there and I know most of them already.)

- Anybody got a decent copy of "House Rules"? I can't find the CD it's on and I don't think it's on my Zen. (I don't know why, considering everything else in the planet seems to make its way onto it. Heh.)

I think I'll have ice cream for breakfast. Mmm, sometimes being a grownup is awesome. :)

AFAIK every time you hook an iPod up to a new computer, you lose everything on there.

Hence, all that music will disappear if she hooks it up to a different computer.

This happened to my cousins and, when I switched computers recently, to me.

There is a program that rips music off an iPod before iTunes can erase anything. I'm not sure what the PC/Windows name of it is. Only problem is that it might reset after being re-pluged into her computer.

Ice cream is a perfectly cromulent breakfast, I wish I had some muesli for a midnight snack. =(

I use Windows Media Player with the MGTEK dopisp plugin to load up my iPod, and it doesn't delete the music even when you look at it with itunes on a different computer (at least so far), because the music loaded on it with WMP is treated like regular data, not music. If you're interested, here's the website and here is a pirated copy of it, since it's a paid program. I can't remember if I installed the version from the zip file first, put in the serial number from the NFO file, and then installed the "free download" version, or just the version from the site and then put in the serial number, so if you go with it, you might have to experiment. Either way, it works great.

And here is "The House Rules." :D

Hmmm, let's try it this way. The filename has spaces in it, maybe that was the problem.

Kane's 'House Rules' or a different one?

It won't wipe everything. It'll just ask if you want to sync the iPod with a new computer. Click no and change the setting to manual update and you can just update it with what you want.
