This is my THESIS, man!
Jan. 17th, 2008 10:25 amOh, dude, do you have any idea how happy this show is going to make me? I'm going to make a big pile of popcorn and get some liquor handy and flail for an hour before it actually comes on.
I think this is my main fascination with apocalyptic stuff. I mean, yes, things blowing up! But the end result fascinates the hell out of me. Just this big empty world and what happens with the people left over and the buildings left behind.
I think I have to write an original apocalyptic novel. It's a moral imperative. *nods solemnly*

In Project Runway news ...
-- It strikes me by now just how well Christian works with others. We've had three team challenges by now and in every one of them Christian has gotten on extremely well with whomever he's working with. The worst was when he was working Carmen, but really, there weren't any out-and-out arguments there -- aside from the end result of the dress and jacket looking tacky, they got along well. And he, Jack and Kit got along faaaabulously. Now we have Team Fierce and their great rapport. I really think it says a lot about him.
-- I'm also starting to find his designs appealing. I wouldn't wear most of them, but at least he's got a sense of style which ... let's face it, he's twenty-one, he's way ahead of the curve on that count.
-- I really adore that this challenge gave Chris the chance to shine. I'm crossing my fingers that he gets to the final three (regardless of whatever bitter feelings Jack might have about Chris replacing him -- honey, you left for medical reasons, they had to replace you with someone, Chris was the last person eliminated, and better he learn his lesson from getting eliminated than getting himself auf'd in the next episode, so SHUT UP) because I am in sick dizzying love with his portfolio and I'm dying to see what he might do with a chance to show at Fashion Week.
-- As much as Rami irritated me, Sweet P needs props for not throwing anything at him AND for rallying with that gorgeous ready-to-wear look. That was my favorite of the ready-to-wear looks -- that's one I would actually buy. (You know, if I wasn't completely out of money for, oh, the next month. *sigh*)
-- Jillian and Victorya's jacket was lovely, although I think I'll only allow myself to admit it because I rather like Jillian by now, robotic demeanor or not.
-- No, really, who is Ricky blowing? Eight challenges, five in the bottom of the pack. HOW IS HE STILL THERE?!
-- Also, I'm really hoping there's not another real-person challenge. Hell, I'm starting to wish they hadn't had the other ones. It's just increasingly bothering me that "it's a competition for the models as well" and almost half of the time they haven't even been used. That's got to suck.

Regarding Ricky
Date: 2008-01-17 03:50 pm (UTC)This happened in the past couple of seasons, Angela and Vincent from last season being prime examples.

Date: 2008-01-17 04:32 pm (UTC)As regards Rami, it was decided that a gay Israeli male is still an Israeli male, which explains everything about the way he was acting. We're curious about who would win in a smackdown, though: Sweet P and her motorcycle gang chops, or Rami and his Israeli army training.

Date: 2008-01-17 04:45 pm (UTC)That leaves Chris, Christian, Jillian and Rami. Chris is my absolute favorite so I definitely want him there (and I think he's got the talent to pull it off), Jillian might be quiet but she's low-drama and I generally like her designs, and Christian might be a snot but the knocks to his ego are doing his personality good and he's got an interesting (if not my style) vision.
And then there's Rami. As hot as he is, I'm not all that keen on seeing Fashion Week: The Toga Party.

Date: 2008-01-17 05:11 pm (UTC)But it's true, if you had Chris, Jillian, and Sweet P left, there'd be no drama. So Christian really needs to be there. I just hope none of our favorites does anything really stupid next week and accidentally gets knocked off instead of Ricky or Victorya. (Have you seen the clip where Victorya keeps calling Sweet P "Kit"? Bitch.)

Date: 2008-01-17 05:23 pm (UTC)I don't think there'd really be all that much drama even if Christian is there, though, other than the drama of him saying, "Fierce," one too many times. Jillian was really sympathetic to his situation during the prom challenge, and Chris and Christian obviously work well together, so at the very least I figure it's highly unlikely there'd be any interpersonal drama on that count if they were the final three. And Christian has a lot of experience with big-name designers and fashion, so at this point I think the only real drama of his being in the final three would be in his just being really, REALLY awesome that he's getting to show. Which, really, can you blame him? ;)
Have you seen the clip where Victorya keeps calling Sweet P "Kit"? Bitch.
Ugh, no. I'd ask where it is, but if I see that I'm going to want to punch her. (I still get irritated when I see her telling Sweet P, "I wish I could sew fast," during that one challenge. It was yet more passive-aggresive bullshit, because you could hear in her voice that she really wanted to keep going and add, "... but I don't want my garment to look like shit." Haaaaate.)

Date: 2008-01-17 05:12 pm (UTC)The thing about Rami's toga love is when he did Tyra's show, there wasn't a toga in the mix. He did a bubble dress that was fugly as hell, but he actually showed both breasts. Dunno what happened in the, what, six-seven months between the filming of the episode and the start of PR.

Date: 2008-01-19 09:23 am (UTC)Also, I don't know how many Israeli men, gay or straight you know, but as an Israeli I have to say I don't really agree with your reasoning. Especially since he is nothing like most of the gay Israeli men I know.

Ew, I don't want to think about that. He probably cries during sex too. GAH.

Date: 2008-01-17 05:03 pm (UTC)You make a good point about Christian working well with others. For all the sass and cockiness we see from him, we haven't actually seen him be nasty-confrontational or bitchy-passive-agressive (save comments like "Don't these bitches know I'm better than them?," which must be taken in exactly the tone they're intended). He handled his problem-client MUCH better than people in the past have handled problem clients, especially considering that he has very little client-repoire experience (think: Jefferey, who should know how to handle clients, and Angela's mom). I'm glad Christian has immunity next week, because I have trouble seeing next week going well for him--he likes expensive fabrics and perfect bodies, not shit made out of boats or whatever the material is.
I'm definitely in love with Jillian (oh Jillian, my Jillian), Christian, and Chris. I'm in opposite-of-love with Rami, Ricky, Victorya, and Sweet P. I guess that means I have my Bryant Park picks made!
