I never did manage to figure out what name they had Britain/Great Britain/United Kingdom/England/Wales/Scotland/Northern Ireland under... My country has too damn many names.

Ireland got its own name, but everything else was lumped in under the united kingdom. :/ i wasted a good 20 seconds on that one.

Ireland *is* a separate country.

Republic of Ireland = a country on its own.
Northern Ireland = a part of the United Kingdom
United Kingdom = Northern Ireland + Great Britain
Great Britain = Scotland, England, Wales

We like to keep things complicated. Why do you think we resisted decimalisation for so long?

True, but Puerto Rico technically isn't and it counted on its own.

yeah, well.

I think I hit around 78, myself. Largely that was because of The Amazing Race and my family's months-long sabbaticals through South America and Europe. *grin*

... and then I looked at the list of those I hadn't gotten and facepalmed. "How did I miss all those?"

Yeah, I was drying up on African countries and the only ones that were coming to mind were ones that I remembered from TAR.

I did way better than I expected with eastern Asian countries, so I've got that going for me. :)

Heh, yeah. For Africa I think I got Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Liberia, Ivory Coast, South Africa, Kenya, Chad, and Morocco. For the East Asian countries I nailed the easy ones (China, Japan, North/South Korea, Taiwan), and then fumbled around with Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Thailand, India, and Nepal.

The Mideast and the Near East were MUCH easier. *grin*

81, but I missed some painfully obvious ones. Netherlands, for crying out loud! I missed the Netherlands!

Is it awesome because it does absolutely nothing when I hit enter?

You don't have to hit enter if you type a right answer. It just adds what you just typed to the count and clears the entry space.

I discovered how it worked eventually. The problem was that I started with "USA" or England and neither worked. It had to be "United States" "United Kingdom" etc. V. confusing at first. But I did manage to get 70 in spite of typing a space at the beginning of the words quite a few times and having to start over. LOL Persnickety program!
