Huckabee: I don't want to be VP

Yeah, we'll be holding you to that one, Huck.

My favorite part?

Huckabee is far behind McCain in the delegates race, with NBC News estimating that McCain has 721 and Huckabee 231. A contender needs 1,191 delegates to secure the GOP nomination, and yet only 819 delegates are left undeclared.

"I don't know how the math works out," Huckabee said after Russert ran through the numbers.

Oh, my God, he doesn't know second-grade math. *headsmack*

Here, let me help you out, Huck. From that information, you need to get every single one of the delegates that are left, and then you have to knock John McCain out and rifle through his pockets for loose delegates.

Hey, there's a gag-worthy quote of his from the other day that goes right along with this:

"I did not major in math, but I majored in miracles, and I still believe in them..."

As I posted then, I'm changing my major. English just isn't cutting it. Wonder how many "miracle" credits I can find.

I'm pretty sure "majoring in miracles" is supposed to refer to his bachelor's degree in religion. Although hey, maybe a safe will fall on McCain, and then what'll those 721 delegates get him?

The man doesn't believe in evolution. I'm not surprised he doesn't believe in arithmatic either.

The truly scary thing is not that he can't do basic arithmetic or that he doesn't believe in evolution. It's the fact that he appeals to people who are just like him, and there are enough of these people to garner him 231 delegates.

Just you know. Saying.

The whole Republican side of the race provides endless hilarity... did you hear about Washington? The state party declared it for McCain with only 87% of the caucuses counted... which would be understandable in a blowout, but McCain was leading Huckabee a whopping 2% of counted votes. One commenter on Talking Points Memo summed it up: "Nice to know the Repubs have progressed from 2000 where they refused to count Democratic votes, to 2008 where they are now refusing to count their own votes."

Huckabee doesn't have nearly as much of a shot as he seems to think, but party insiders are SHITTING THEMSELVES over how well he's doing. And that's when the pundits aren't busy declaring they'd rather vote for Clinton than McCain.

At this rate, I'm going to run clean out of popcorn by November.
