denorios said she couldn't get Mountain Dew and Cheetos in England. And it struck a chord in my junk-food-addicted heart, so I sent her two family-size bags of Cheetos and a six-pack of 24-oz. bottles of Mountain Dew. Which she just got.
HEEE. It's been so long since I've done something like that. *bounces up and down happily*
I may or may not be guzzling one of those bottles even as we speak. Hee. This stuff is like crack. You just know I'm going to go through this lot in about two days and then be all MORE!
do you mind if i friend you? i just took a look at your journal and was smitten-in-a-lj-platonic way. i also didn't know CSI:NY was syndicated over here. Now I wish I did have a television in my dorm room. I mean, I was wishing it before because of Supernatural and Bones but ... *wibbles* I miss my weekly dose of Danny and Mac.
No kidding, the junk food here is HORRIBLE. Though, the roast chicken flavored chips aren't bad but...Where is my awesome selection of goodies? NO WHERE.
And they don't have grape jelly for my peanut butter.
see the problem is, how can you know what the good stuff is without trying it all? And my intuition must be defunct, because I keep picking out things that turn out to be gross.
Woe.
I wish there was a handy-dandy list that said "THESE ARE AWESOME" and "THESE YOU WOULDN'T WISH UPON YOUR ENEMY'S FIRST BORN"
The aforementioned Smarties and Aero are very good! Also Coffee Crisp. Mmm, coffee + chocolate. Just about anything by Cadbury (there's a much, much larger selection of Cadbury products than can be found in the States). What's especially good is a Flake with vanilla ice cream.
And Kinder Surprise is just plain awesome. Because, I mean. Chocolate. AND A TOY.
Hmm. I guess a lot like a lemon-lime energy drink, is the best description. I keep telling my brother that if Mountain Dew were juice, Red Bull would be the pulp of the fruit it was squeezed from. I mean, I know it's bright yellow-green, but it tastes like it. Not in a bad way, though. :)
I did something sorta like that- there was a big long comment thread on some community about everyone's Christmas hauls, right after the holiday, and someone said that she hadn't gotten a thing for Christmas because her parents didn't think presents were necessary once she turned 18. And that really made me sad, so I asked her for her address and sent her something. It was little, but it made her happy.
Actually, when you said you'd never gotten anything for Valentine's Day, I seriously considered sending you something. But I figured you wouldn't be dumb enough to hand out your address to someone you've never met.

Date: 2008-02-20 04:25 pm (UTC)I'm a pretty new convert to CSI:NY. I just devoured all four seasons in about three months and now I'm hooked bigtime.
