Random things
Mar. 26th, 2008 01:52 pm-- Okay, I am seriously missing sewing lately. I want to make wee little dresses like these and I can't and it's pissing me off. My sewing machine is missing the bobbin case and that metal circle that holds it into the well, and apparently both of them together cost almost as much as a new (if not fancy) sewing machine. I hate this ... every once in a while (usually during new Project Runway), I am all SEWING YAY! and then I'm reminding my sewing machine is missing things and it sucks.
I've really got to start checking out the local classifieds, although God knows I'm broke anyway until I get a part-time job, which I swore I wouldn't do until I finished the new book. (Not that there's a lot of decent job openings for part-time work when you work a four-day-on, four-day-off night shift, but STILL.)
-- I was going to write today but the cat woke me up after five hours of sleep -- gee, thanks, you loudmouthed furball -- so I'm skipping out. On the plus side, I've got two chapters done for this week, I plotted out the rest of the book last night at work (although I still don't know how the hell I'm getting from point A to point Z in regards to the ending, but, um, \o/), and if I go to Panera one day this week after work and get the dialogue for the next two chapters written, that's less work I'll have to worry about this weekend.
I think tonight I'll just let myself brainstorm new novel ideas for when I'm done with this one. I feel kind of bad because I'm being swallowed up by writing original stuff again over fanfic, but then I have to keep reminding myself, "No, no, this is a good thing! Muppet arms, damn it!"
-- It's fifty and sunny out right now. This is clearly a vicious taunt, as tomorrow it will no doubt drop twelve feet of snow on me just to piss me off.
My brother happily reminded me on the ride to dinner on Saturday night that last year we had two feet of snow on his birthday. His birthday is April 16th. He's lucky my mother wasn't in the car or she would have throttled him. (My mother has been asking if it's going to start getting warmer soon since December. And people think I'm bad, yo.)
-- I've barely been watching TV lately. It would probably be more impressive if I were replacing my TV-watching time with getting-outside-and-losing-my-winter-padding time, but ... yeah, not so much. Aside from Top Chef, I'm not caught up on anything I normally watch. (Unless we count SPN, which isn't even back yet, so. *shrugs*)
-- Actually, you know what I'm going to do for the rest of the afternoon? I'm going to be a tool of the patriarchy and watch Firefly.
