1. Twenty-four hours.
2. 6500 words.
3. An eyestrain headache.
4. In accordance with that last Daily Show clip, what looks suspiciously like dry-humping.

I believe this is what is commonly referred to as a lesson in futility. *sigh*

And yet I'm not giving up because I am, in fact, INSANE.

I had 11,743 words for my first version but the plot got crossed and now its useless.

So what have I done? Restarted a completely new fic and I currently sit at 1000 words.

I am pretty much in exactly the same boat as you. I just hit 7,351 words and I'm crossing my fingers that I'll somehow be able to make the deadline by 11:45 tonight.

I saw in comments below you mentioned possibly throwing in a lot of BS to make the word-count and fixing it later. That is NOT a bad idea, seriously. They supposedly aren't even reading this, just checking for word count initially. That's what re-writing is for, right? xD *crosses fingers* Good luck!!
