Doctor Who
May. 10th, 2008 07:18 pmOh, dude! That was so much better than I thought it was going to be. It looked like it was going to be a Mary Sue-fest and ... okay, yeah, Jenny was very Mary Sue-ish, but she was fun rather than obnoxious. I would totally watch a show about her running around saving people and being perky and being born in leather pants with fantastic makeup like a female Eddie Izzard.
Also, YAY DONNA. Except for that bit about traveling with the Doctor forever because ... oh, sweetie. You'd think you would have figured out by now that traveling with the Doctor is not a "forever" sort of thing no matter how much you might want to. I seriously hope that's not some foreshadowing for her dying during their travels, which would depress me.
Martha was awesome as well, although that bit of acting in the death scene of her new buddy was cringeworthy.
And Doctor? "Make the foundation of your society a man who would never do that"? Yeah, societies built around a belief in a man who would never hurt someone like that never go off to war or needlessly kill innocent people. Also, was that a thinly veiled "creationism is stupid" comment? I mean, I *highly* doubt that it was, but I rolled my eyes and giggled at it anyway.

Date: 2008-05-10 11:30 pm (UTC)Damn it, I LOVE her. She gives it back to the Doctor in a way that no one else has recently.
I'm pissed off that Jenny came back to life. She's going to try to save the world, punch a few holes in the universe, and presto, season finale, complete with Mary Sue.

Date: 2008-05-11 05:52 am (UTC)I'm pretty damned sure it was. RTD and Tennant are both on the Agnostic / Atheist end of things.

It might also have something to do with the fact that the doctor's daughter has my name. (The name on my birth certificate is Jenny) I win! \o/
Also I'm lame cause I totally cried when Martha's friend died, cause of the way she was crying.
