Tell me something awesome about a woman you love in any fandom. Wax poetic. I want to hear people talk about what they love about female characters. And try to pick female characters or women in RPF who haven't already gotten love so we can spread it around.

And no bashing other people's comments!

You know what? I'm picking Boo. Yeah, okay, she's a very tiny woman. Who cares? She's silly and fun and adorable, and looking at an icon of her always makes me feel better, and she learns how to be brave right before our eyes. I heart that so much that I really wish I had the time to rewatch Monsters Inc. before I leave for work, but I don't, damn it.

Now you go. :)

EDIT: Guys, if you want to do more than one character, go nuts. The more, the merrier, right? \o/

Ok, I'm in. And oddly enough, I'm picking Vesper Lynd from Casino Royale. I just watched it for like...the millionth time this past friday (I'm a Bond fanatic since birth, pretty much) and she is magnificent. Brilliant, brave, and human. Her reaction when Bond is getting his ass kicked in the stairwell is to help him fight back, but she's not an agent, he's an accountant. She isn't trained to deal with that kind of violence. So, after it's all over she breaks down. But that doesn't stop her from completing her mission and actually pulling one over on EVERYONE, including MI6. I love her desperately.

She wasn't bad in the book, but nowhere near as awesome as in the movie. As far as book Bond Girls, I'd go with Pussy Galore or Tiffany Case for awesomeness. Both characters were way more bad-ass in the books than in the movies.

I will so second Vesper. Love her to pieces. :-)

You've basically described exactly the reasons I loved her so very very much; smart, strong, beautiful, but a real human being who reacts to violence and death in a believable way. That scene in the shower nearly broke my heart the first time.

Massively seconded.

I know! During the fight scene I was all, "Wait, she didn't suddenly miraculously learn judo. Also, she's not going to the other end of the Stereotype Scale and having a freakout fit. My usual Bond Movie Formula is being sorely messed with. Please keep it up." ;-)

Then the shower scene, which didn't end with some too-predictable, 'let me react to your obviously shaky mental state by coming on to you' sex scene and yeah, I was hooked.

It also made me like James ten million times more than I already did at that point, because he was behaving like a member of the human race rather than exploiting her in that moment of weakness.

Seriously she was so wonderful, so human. There really do need to be more women like that in films. We don't all know kung-fu!

I know! I love physically kick-ass women, don't get me wrong, but balance is good.

I love your icon so much. And I agree with Vesper Lynd. She was awesome and so strong.

Movie!Vesper is made of win. She was kick-ass at her job, and didn't put up with Bond's bullshit.
