Yesterday at work, I was talking to a female co-worker about makeup and mentioned this conversation I had last week on my LJ ...

[livejournal.com profile] shemchadash: I have to ask... what is it about men that makes us worth this effort? Some of us don't even shave and yet women use/apply

Rouge, mascara, lipstick, blush, perfume, pierce various portions of your anatomies, and shave/wax painful areas...

WHY?!?

[livejournal.com profile] trollprincess: I like to apply makeup for the same reason I dye my hair different colors and get tattoos -- because I like to draw on myself and people look at me funny when I walk around with Sharpie marker on my face.

Captain Asshat then proceeded to butt in and announce that I shouldn't let any man tell me that makeup means nothing, because all men (hey, he was the one who said "one hundred percent of men") care totally about looks in a woman and nothing about personality. (I only boldface that because that's how he said. Taking down Captain Asshat's various bits of wisdom *cough* involve boldface and italics and wild hand gestures you don't get to see.)

Not that I agree or disagree with what he said, I'm just curious what the guys on my friends list have to say about that, in all honesty. (Mostly because I want to know what another guy would have said if he'd been standing there, 'cause it was just me and Silvia standing there quietly wondering why this fuckstick was butting into our casual conversation about absolutely nothing.)

EDIT: Psst! I just turned in my extra invite codes for more userpics. Someone make me icons. Other people always end up making them better than me, anyway.
