Jul. 13th, 2008 07:54 pmAlex Rodriguez gets teased by fans in Toronto and Boston. (At least, I think that's Boston ... they're certainly Boston fans and I can't see them going to a Yankees game otherwise.)
And also, McKellen describes death threats. On Sunday Bishop Robinson will attend the screening of a film about how the Bible can be used to combat homophobia, and will hold a question and answer session with Sir Ian. Dude! Where can I get my grubby paws on THAT movie?

Date: 2008-07-14 02:58 am (UTC)I don't really pay attention to baseball the way I used to in high school. And my family is mostly Red Sox fans, so the only news I usually pick up baseball-wise is about them.

Date: 2008-07-14 03:58 pm (UTC)Entertainingly, I got to chat with Gene Robinson because Daniel Karslake, the director, is the domestic partner of one of my boyfriend's coworkers, so when they did a screening here at the National Cathedral, we got to go, and stayed afterwards and hung out for a bit.
He mentioned talking about the Lambeth conference with Ian McKellen a few weeks previously (this was in May), when he'd been over for dinner at Ian McKellen's flat (Ian cooked). They're apparently quite good friends. It was very surreal.
