Dec. 22nd, 2003 07:42 amThe trailer for Michelle Trachtenburg's new movie is up on Apple Trailers, and she's wearing a bikini in it. I know she's a teenager, but daaaaaaaamn, is that girl skinny. You know, I figured she'd learn something from spending so much time with SMG, but really, I'm not sure that how to get mistaken for a microphone stand when you turn sideways is the life lesson she should have picked up.

Another stupid question from a guy
Date: 2003-12-22 06:16 am (UTC)My personal standard, for anyone who wishes to attack me? I don't like to be able to see a woman's ribs. Yes, women have ribs... but I don't want to be able to count them. From across the room. With my glasses off.

Date: 2003-12-22 11:49 am (UTC)that was about the time that folks started realizing stuph about anorexia and i would get accused of it regularly. to the point where i finally told anyone who accused me of it that they had to take me out to eat. where i would proceed to out-eat most of them. (and no, i wasn't bulimic either - i just had a very high metabolism).
one of the downsides was, i *had* to eat regularly and a lot, or i would start feeling faint...
so - before you start passing judgements on folks, remember that you don't know whether they're like that naturally or not. i have a number of friends who are the same way. in fact many of them have gone to protein supplements to try to *gain* some weight.
now - if you have a friend who you *know* is on a diet and has been losing weight to the point where you can count her ribs and still thinks she's fat... that's another thing entirely...

Date: 2003-12-22 07:52 am (UTC)There's a balance.
Date: 2003-12-22 01:27 pm (UTC)The problem with Sarah-Michelle Gellar and others like her is the risk of cutting yourself quite badly on her protruding collar bones. She's responsible for the biggest continuity error of the show - the way Buffy became less physically mature as the years passed.
