I'm not really grossed out by much, but every time I think of tapeworms I think of the one that was in a jar on a shelf near my desk in high school biology and how freaking icky it was and ... and NINE FEET? He passed a nine-foot-long tapeworm?! GYAH. I have a new nightmare.

Nastia's expression there is hilarious. BTW, did you figure out a college to use in The Hollow Girl? Because I was going to suggest that you could sort of make one up and then base it on a real campus or a combination of real things. Also, have you looked at any virtual tours on college websites? I know Dickinson, for example, has a virtual tour with lots of pictures on their website, as well as a bunch of videos and a campus webcam, and plenty of other schools do the same thing. Just for if the time/money don't quite work out for visiting in person. :)

1) Nastia Luikin is absolutely the shit. I love her.

2) Is it bad that I am actually relieved none of my sex scenes made it on that list? Yes, that's how much confidence I have in my writing... I'm genuinely afraid of being on a Cracked Magazine Top 5 Worst List. And people wonder why I need outside validation to thrive. ;-D

If you avoid raw food and dirty-fingered toddlers, you're most unlikely to get a tapeworm. If you happen to like raw food and kids who don't wash their hands, just take a worming tablet every three months or so. Fight the phobia!
