"The new version" idea is very current, really, but why tie it to the Partridge family when now they have nothing in common? Why not just make an original show out of it?

When are they going to learn that controversy doesn't equal ratings over the long haul, and sometimes it barely even means a big debut? And anything relying on controversy to pave its way isn't going to last long based on quality, either. Ugh.

It's like the bad Buffy fanfic I read where there was no supernatural, everyone was teens (including Giles) and I don't even think they were in Sunnydale. If it was not for Buffy and Spike's insanely idiotic personal relationship[1], it would have been Buffy with the numbers filed off.

It also reminds me of the Doom novels and movie, where they refused to have demons and hell. Why call it DOOM them? It's not DOOM. It's a lie.
