In a television appearance that outraged Democrats are already describing as Joseph McCarthy politics, Minnesota Rep. Michelle Bachmann claimed on Friday that Barack Obama and his wife Michelle held anti-American views and couldn't be trusted in the White House. She even called for the major newspapers of the country to investigate other members of Congress to "find out if they are pro-America or anti-America."

Oh, good! I less-than-three blatant McCarthyism!

(The great bit is that her Democratic opponent has had overwhelming contribution numbers since the Hardball segment in question aired. Good.)

WTF does that even mean, anti-America? Well, whatever the dingbats who use words like "anti-America" to describe Presidential candidates think it means, of course, but really. Substantively, I'd love to know what she means so I can laugh and laugh and then possibly punch something.

Michelle Bachmann is CRAZYPANTS. I actually love that she's being crazypants on a national level, in a mean sort of way, because Minnesota is SUCH a historical Democratic state that it means that maybe if she shoots herself in the foot enough times we'll be able to send her home to be crazypants on a much smaller scale.

Every damn time I see that woman on TV she reduces me to a frothing mass of rage. How she manages to push every one of my political hot buttons is beyond me, but she does it. I don't have a clue how she got elected in the first place. I think this country had a series of collective brain farts since the turn of the century.
