Nice try, sweetie.
Oct. 19th, 2008 02:03 pmDear Otis,
This morning, you finished off the milk left over from my cereal. Then you begged for some of the chicken from my chicken barbecue dinner. But baby, I can guarantee you that as much fun as "I want what Mommy's having!" can be, you do not want a chocolate brownie with marshmallow frosting. Really.
Sincerely,
Me
P.S. Considering how much of my food you steal, why aren't you fatter? Or fat at all? I'm confused.

Date: 2008-10-29 05:03 pm (UTC)Chocolate contains a compound called theobromine, which can be harmful to humans too if allowed to build up enough. It's not a problem with humans because of our metabolism--I think I've read you'd have to eat about 50 pounds of chocolate really fast to have any ill effect. But cats and dogs process this chemical a lot less efficiently than we do.
