I'm doing Nanowrimo for the first time ever this year.
I've got this one story I've had on a back burner for a while, about a dead-beat dad who steals his kids magical abilities so he has enough juice to go steal rare magical objects from a dragon and smuggle them into his country, and then the powerless kids have to go after him. I've got it fairly well outlined but that's still no guarantee I won't get stuck. I think I've grown too attached to the characters,to suddenly add aliens or a crazed psychopath or a similar crazy imagination stunt to keep the word count going.
Not sure if I should go with another idea I don't care about as much, so I can embrace the craziness that is Nanowrimo.
