Um.

I still can't find Elliot.

I wish I were freaking out more, but at this point I've kind of resigned myself to him either being REALLY good at hiding (which doesn't seem all that plausible considering the lack of hiding places in the apartment), having found a hole into the wall I can't even find (which I highly doubt considering how long I've lived here), or having hopped out the front door when I came in this morning (which I think I would have noticed, but then again Elliot is the resourceful one).

In any event, he's vanished without a trace and I've run out of places to look.

Honest to God, I wish I were to the point of crying but I'm not. I wish I could say, "Oh, I just got my period, my hormones must be all fucked up," but for once I didn't even get mad enough last night to see that coming.

Squidgy, my chinchilla, once went missing. We were letting him have a run around in my parents bedroom, one of my brother's friends didn't realise and left the door open, then the back door was open and... well, he was gone. We looked everywhere for him, took everything out and looked in all the bedrooms, inside the sofas, upstairs, downstairs, everywhere. Nothing.

No sign for days, so we'd pretty much resigned ourselves to him having gone outside or one day finding a tiny furry corpse in the siding...

And then, a few days later, I was walking down the corridor and there he was. I managed to corner him in the tool cupboard and catch him again, but he was fine-- not even particularly hungry or thirsty. Chinchillas are good at hiding and they're tough little beasts.
