OCTOBER 23--Shortly before a John McCain campaign volunteer was reportedly robbed at knifepoint and had a "B" carved in her face after her assailant noticed that her car carried a McCain bumper sticker, the woman blogged last night that she was "Stubbornly searching for a bank of america to avoid ATM fees" and had somehow ended up "on the wrong side of pittsburgh."

You know, that sucks if it's true. But I say "if it's true" because as [livejournal.com profile] jrosestar pointed out, the B is carved backwards, as if someone were ... say, looking in a mirror when they did it to themselves.

Then again, maybe watching five million Law and Order episodes has turned me into a suspicious bastard.

EDIT: Meet Rick Reilly's fantasy football partner: Barack Obama.

I don't even like football, but that's goddamn awesome.

WTF?

I mean, it'd be pretty hard to legitimately give yourself a black eye, but that's fucked up - who carves a letter BACKWARDS into someone's face? (Oh, I know, it was an illiterate angry black man out mugging Republicans. *rolls eyes*)

Also, that looks like scratching or a small sharp object. Not a KNIFE WITH WHICH YOU WOULD MUG SOMEONE.

I don't know, it looks suspicious from here too. If she really got mugged, I'm sympathetic. Maybe it's just the tactics of the GOP and their crazyface voters lately...

Not everyone who plans to vote Republican for the presidential election is a crazy faced voter. Some of us just have different opinions of what is most important at the moment.

BTW - thanks to the friend of a friend, I just found this link which confirms it was faked.

I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to imply that - I realize re-reading that it does in fact come off like I think all Republicans are nut jobs, which I don't.

I meant mostly that there are some really crazy people showing up to rallies and such.

Thanks for the link, btw: especially generous of you considering how my wording came off. Sorry about that.

No offense taken. I just tend to sometimes point out that not every McCain support is a far-right-wing, moral majority, zealot - some of us are middle of the road lesbians.

I appreciate open communication on both sides. Most of my friends in LJ and RL are staunch Obama supporters.

And BTW - *whispers* I'm not really a Republican,I am just pro-McCain. And for the record, it has nothing to do with race.

Out of curiosity, what factors made/are making you support McCain? I won't debate, I'm just interested.

Rather than hi-jack Troll Princesses LJ, why don't you email me and we can carry on a discussion.

You can email me at J_Rosestar@yahoo.com

or we can continue in my LJ in this post where I started...there are more reasons now.

Jean.
