Jacob's Gossip Girl TWoP recap this week is 32 pages long?!

It should not take longer to read the recap than it would for me to just watch the episode. Sheesh.

So my washing machine appears to be busted, which is great because it goes with my dryer which has also been busted for quite some time. Granted, I could live without my dryer because I have one of those racks to hang wet clothes on, so it wasn't a big deal, but now that I have to call the landlord for the washing machine I guess I can hit him up for the dryer while I'm at it.

(I swear, I'm such a doormat. If it's not inconveniencing me, I'm not about to put anybody else out, you know?)

In any event, I have to finish cleaning my apartment before I can bother calling. Le sigh.

I'm going to talk about NaNo and other writing stuff later, and possibly get up the nerve to dump the first three chapters of The Hollow Girl into the agent-shaped person's lap and make a run for it. (Hell, I've got ten thousand words done. Seems only fair, really.)

Also, I was thinking of starting a NaNo comm with, like, a dailly "taking a break" post or something. You know, like a link to a different game and writer's resource and a recipe and a funny YouTube vid or whatever every day, just to lighten the stress. I don't know ... I think the last thing I need in November is one more thing to do every day, but I'm tempted.

Isn't Jacob the one who treats every recap like a film studies thesis?

If so... I'm not surprised.

Part film studies, part philosophy, part English lit. Otherwise, yup, that'd be the guy.

Gotcha. I keep trying to reduce my TWoP visits bit by bit, so I haven't read a recap in forever :P

Holy CRAP! I'd be tempted to read it just to find out WHAT THE HELL he's going on about for that long except, yanno, it's THAT LONG. Over GOSSIP GIRL.

It's amazing. The scene where Dan brings Nate home warrants a paragraph. The final scene with Blair and Chuck takes up two freaking pages. It's like, every once in a while he understands the meaning of brevity and then ... WHOOSH. Right over his head.

Oh, man. I know that Jacob is an acquired taste. I tend to like him just because I love that he gets so deeply, fanboyishly in love with the stuff that he recaps.

But there sure as shit ain't 32 pages of depth in Gossip Girl. Poor, deluded little fanboy.

I really want to read the final, published version of the call-and-response vampire book. I think there will be cackling.

That man has issues. Some of which could be resolved by having an editor.
