I know I say this a lot about, well, pretty much every fandom I'm in, but those two boys could save themselves a lot of frustration if they just cracked and made out already.
It's so true. The continuity is fuzzy, everyone in it is an idiot, and my girlfriend is now a LARPer and cannot get over the traditional BBC knitted chainmail, but it's so gloriously slashy it's worth every minute.
In episode four, Merlin spends several minutes lying down with a fever moaning 'Arthur!!' under his breath. It's the best thing ever.
It's a family show, so all the making out of any variety happens off stage, making any kind of pairing just as plausible as the next, slash, het or whatever.
