Ick. My mouth still tastes like dentist.

Just woke up after a nap after going to the movies with my mom. I really shouldn't have tried reading in the car, as my mom likes to turn up the heat and not keep the windows open even a crack, two things guaranteed to aggravate my tendency for carsickness. I had to lie down when I came home or else I would have spent the rest of the afternoon throwing up.
But, yes. The movie was awesome. Tremendous acting across the board. I was a little bothered by a few of the more anvil-worthy bits ("you need a cat to catch a mouse", "you certainly do", O HAI LOOK AT THAT), but otherwise I liked it quite a lot.
I find it amusing that the Yuletide story I wrote in about an hour when the deadline was almost up has three times as many comments and more recs than the one I was assigned. Heh.
Putting on the TV Tunes channel is probably a bad idea, as I keep having to stop what I'm doing to bop stupidly around my living room because, like, the Saved by the Bell or Fresh Prince of Bel-Air themes pop up. I may possibly need to put on the Melancholia ("the sounds of indie sadness") station after this so I can stop being a goofball and try being hopelessly emo for a few hours.
And now some Cracked lists:
- 7 (Stupid) People Who Sued the Scientific Method
- 6 Musicians Who Predicted Their Own Death in Song
- The 12 Most Horrifically Misleading Euphemisms (The pictures are what make it great.)
Oh, and does anybody have copies of "Womanizer" and "Let It Rock" I can have? I need music to exercise to.
It's also entirely possible that I may ask for a volunteer to harrass me to write the next four days so I can do what I said and finish this damn book before the new year. Well, okay, what I really need is somebody to come to my house and threaten to punch me in the nose if I don't write. I feel the threat of immediate violence may work better than annoying me through IM, but I suppose that's not really an option. (It's certainly not more desirable, that's for damn sure. *cups hands protectively over nose*)

Date: 2008-12-28 01:10 am (UTC)Hee, no recs for me on any, but it's the same thing. The one I wrote in a couple of hours and uploaded at the last minute has about three times the response of the others.

Date: 2008-12-28 01:23 am (UTC)I swear, this happens every year for me. Of course, that's probably the difference between getting an assignment and picking out something that inspires you, but still. Heh. :)

Date: 2008-12-28 01:30 am (UTC)Oh god, it does. I have to admit, this year it caught me off guard a little more. I wrote one something completely out of character for me, and thought "with my luck, that'll be the one everyone flips out over" but, nope. Same old, same old. The last minute pinch hit is the one people are responding to and, no less, in a fandom I thought a lot more dead than the other three. *g*
