apocalypsosI have to work tonight. My goal for today is to get at least one of the three chapters of GPW I still have left to finish (yes, I KNOW) done before work. It would be really great if I could get it down to that one problem chapter, since then I could take it to work with me tonight and see what I can do about knocking some sense into the fucker. I don't know why I write around final confrontations, for fuck's sake. Well, okay, I do, it's because I want to make sure I tie up all loose ends. But, FUCK, it's hard writing them after all that.
Anyway, tomorrow night is the Top Chef finale, and I'm sorely tempted to skip work to watch it. I'd feel more guilty about even contemplating it, considering it's the end of February and I'm almost out of personal days, but I don't think my job is this long for this world anyway and I still have more personal days left at the moment than I have for the last few years by the time March rolled around.
Also, my mom and dad are going to Florida for my cousin's wedding this weekend. I wish I could go with them. I haven't gone on a vacation anywhere for the longest time. I really need to get the hell out of this town for at least a weekend. Maybe if I end up getting the big bonus this week I'll drive down to DC next weekend and hit the museums. I miss the Smithsonian and the Metro and the architecture and fuck, the last time I was in DC Bush was president. BLECH. (That's probably only if I get the big bonus, though. I can't see myself affording to splurge on a weekend away otherwise. *sigh*)
It does mean I have to babysit the kitten this week. Theoretically, Bryan should be able to handle it, but I have these terrifying mental images of one of us ignoring the cats to play WoW constantly and that sure as hell isn't me.
Okay, okay. I've got an hour until National Geographic starts their Tuesday disasterfest (in which they pretty much show hour-long shows about disasters and how they happened all damn day, IT'S LIKE THEY LOVE ME OR SOMETHING) so I'd better get writing.
