Hee ... watching Susan Sarandon hit on Tim Robbins while introducing "Mystic River" is kind of cute. You know, when thinking about whether or not I want Sean Penn to win, I keep thinking whether or not I'd want my father to act like that if I were murdered.

Best Director ... c'mon, Peter Jackson ... YES! Look at Clint, he so wanted it. But you can tell Sofia's just thrilled to see him win. Awww, is Elijah going to cry? *sniffles* Jesus, his bottom lip's damn near quivering. Aw, Dom is there, and he'd definitely crying. *hugs the cast* God, I love that man.

Best Actor, TV Miniseries or Movie ... Antonio! *swoons* ... jeez, those Fonda genes are really workin' it in Troy, aren't they ... Pacino! ... God, Tom Wilkinson is so underrated. Yay, Pacino! And also, Brittany Murphy's dress has blinded me. It was a pretty color up until my retinas fried and I couldn't see it anymore.

So, yeah. Al. Uh, Al, don't fondle the trophy. But do cut your hair. At the moment, with the haircut, I wouldn't be surprised if Uma Thurman put on a yellow jumpsuit and tried to kill you. Jesus, is it so hard to say thank you and get off the stage?

******

Fergie?! What the hell is she doing ... oh. Introducing Love Actually. Okay, whatever.

Best Actor, Drama ... Well, of course they'd show Tom when Nicole came on stage. But that was a genuine smile when they showed him being named, so that was nice. So Sean won. Again, not surprised. But at least there wasn't a controversial speech, so that's ... wait, what am I saying?

******

Hey, Deep Impact is on CBS!

Not like I'm going to watch it, but still. I liked this one better than Armageddon.

And by the way, the Friends commercial? "You are Ross and Rachel. You're supposed to be together." Well, now I know what to use to induce vomiting.

******

Jeff Bridges introducing Seabiscuit ... *happy sighs* Damn it, he should have been the one nominated tonight.

Ooo, Pierce Brosnan! Best Foreign Language film ... well, hell, like I'd get a chance to see any of these in this country. *eye roll* ... Osama. Very cool. Look at all the people not clapping. Anyone else getting the impression they think it's some sort of bin Ladin biography or something? Hee! Antonio playing with his daughter. Very nice speech, by the way.

Best Actress, Drama ... CHARLIZE! Win, damn it! ... The applause for her bodes well ... YES! She totally deserves this, you have no idea. Look at her being all nervous and gorgeous. Go see this movie ... you won't regret it. God, I even want to go see it again.

******

Why is Jim Carrey bald? I really need to figure out why ... although I knew a bald joke was coming.

So, yeah. Best Picture, Comedy or Musical ... Nemo or Lost, Nemo or Lost ... Elf?! Bite me, Jim. Lost in Translation! YAY! Again, see this movie. And also, Sofia, buy heels. Really, it's okay. Thank Bill and Scarlett, damn it. The movie hangs on them ... thank you.

Leonardo DiCaprio is presenting Best Picture, Drama? Ooo-kay. I do think he's a very, very good actor, it's just ... weird. C'mon, RotK ...

YYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!

Wow, that was multiple awards orgasms. I may not be able to critique fashion for a few minutes. *swoons happily*

EDIT: Well, checking the Golden Globes fic post, I owe [livejournal.com profile] girlwithjournal some fanfic. What'll it be, chickadee? Pick a fandom, any fandom. (Well, within reason, of course. ;))

Dude. WTF? Why are people stupid? And I was all, "Nicole, honey, shut your damn mouth, it's not an attractive look."

Heeee, loved reading your commentary! Sounds a bit like me when I'm watching award shows. I'm still watching the Globes right now, and I'm thrilled that many people I wanted to win, did. Can't wait to see their moments, hehehe. :-)

Oh my gosh, I'm so shocked, and flattered, to win this. There are so many people who deserve this award, and so many people I'd like to thank. Like the empty air I randomly pulled my guesses from, and my computer, for posting those guesses four times just to make sure they got out there. And the couch, which is always so very supportive of me. And of course, [livejournal.com profile] trollprincess, who probably didn't know what she was getting herself into, or that I'd ask for fic from BtVS/AtS or Firefly or PotC or Good Omens. Am I allowed to ask for pairings, too? Oh, I guess that music means I'm out of time. But thank you, everyone! You like me! You really like me!

Of course you can pick pairings. Heck, you can even suggest a plot or a genre, if you want.

But just a warning ... I only saw one episode of Firefly and have a very vague recollection of Good Omens, which I haven't read in a while. So I suppose it's either BtVS or PotC. (Psst ... pick PotC! Jack is snarking in my head!)

PotC would be lovely, and thankee. Would Jack/Norrington be possible? ::smiles evilly::

Oh, yeah, loving the PotC/BtVS crossover icons. Especially this one! (And on checking your other icons I see you've got Wolverine and Cassidy, which is also excellent.)

Nothing tops yours, though! ::laughs:: ::cries:: ::lau--well, cries some more, really. It's a travesty! Travesty!::

I'm not fine, really.

Admittedly, I didn't get around to making that icon until after reading Warren Ellis' defense of said casting, which indeed convinced me that the movie may turn out to be watchable after all. Still, it conveys my and most other HELLBLAZER fans' viewpoint on first learning of the casting choice...

Do you happen to have a link to that article? Because I definitely need convincing.

The notification e-mail for this comment was languishing in my inbox unanswered for so long because I hadn't gotten around to tracking down that article. I just tripped over a transcript of it in another LJ entry, so here's your long-delayed reply.
