I love the internets! (And hate ABC!)
May. 3rd, 2009 02:34 pmA few thoughts --
1. It couldn't have ended any other way given the time limits, and I thought it was lovely (if a bit hasty for obvious reasons), and I cried.
2. Oh, wow, that overhead shot at the end? That swung over the countryside and hit every single place they've gone to since the series started? That was AMAZING.
3. I adore Simone. I was never quite sure if she was too bitchy for me to like, but after the second-to-last episode, Emerson/Simone forever! Woohoo!
4. Is it wrong that what made me happier than anything else in the last three episodes was that Emerson FINALLY got "The Littlest Gumshoe" published? YAY!
5. After that last episode, I love Lily and Vivian so damn much. I mean, I did before, but AW. AWWWWWWW.

Date: 2009-05-03 08:08 pm (UTC)And, yeah. You could see the ending being tacked on far too early, but that didn't make it any less beautiful.

Date: 2009-05-04 01:26 am (UTC)I flailed for Ned and Olive (for the first time ever, I want fanfic for this show...goddamn shipping instinct), and I flailed for Chuck and her aunts.
I also flailed for the whole Emerson Cod thing. I finally liked Simone, once she showed some vulnerability and stopped being a relentless too-bitchy caricature. Rather, this had two very similar women who had the domineering bitchy thing both growling it out over Emerson, which says a lot about who he's attracted to. I also loved Simone & Olive tag-teaming Lilah. HUZZAH!
My only significant disappointment is that we never got to see Olive's reaction to learning about Ned's powers.

Date: 2009-05-04 01:35 am (UTC)I think I gave them leeway about not telling Olive because there was only three episodes, and I would have loved for her to know, but I don't think I would have been happy if Olive had found out during 2x11 and only had two episodes to suss it out. It's such a huge thing I'd rather they not touch rather than race over it, you know?
Once Simone softened up a bit and we got a gander at Lilah, it was like something about Emerson just clicked. I mean, WE know he's a softie underneath it all, but he needs a growling domineering bitch to draw it out, and then he turns around and draws the softie out of her. Awww. I'm gonna miss that man. *pouts*
