The terror threat is vaguely up again, emphasis on the word "vaguely." Bush's military records have been accidentally destroyed. *coughcough*

And then there's this from he New Republic ... "... highly placed sources in Pakistani intelligence say that the Bush administration told the Pakistani government that it must deliver 'high value targets' (HVTs) -- most-wanted terrorist leaders like Osama Bin Laden -- by the November election, with a special request to capture or kill HVTs during the Democratic National Convention in Boston later this month."

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Kerry picked a charming, likable running mate and got a bump in the polls. The coincidences are astounding, truly. (Although, if I want to think Bush is an asshole, I can always read this and giggle. *snerk*)

So, anyway, in news less likely to piss me off, I went shopping today and picked up Bulletproof Monk, Independence Day, and Underworld. (I would have picked up Ocean's 11, but I only had enough for three, and one of the employees was messing with the section Jurassic Park was in and damned if neither one of us could find it.) Tomorrow, I head out to pick up another DVD stand, because the Leaning Tower of TV Box Sets is really starting to bug the hell out of me.

Also, on the way to work today, I shared a metro train with a crowd of teenage members of the Future Farmers of America. I could tell this because they were all wearing either long black pants or skirts, white dress shirts, and heavy freakin' corduroy coats with FFA on 'em ... in July, in Virginia. And also, because the two teenage boys sitting in front of me were talking about tractor pulls like they actually gave a rat's ass. It was quietly surreal, like sitting down to order at a diner and suddenly realizing all of the waitresses are Muppets.
