apocalypsos: (puss in boots)
Everybody's going to Dragoncon and they're not taking me! *wails* *sobs* *whimpers*

That's okay, though, because there's no way in hell I'm missing out on it next year. And besides, I get to go back to PA this weekend and hang with my family. And, considering the way I'm usually greeted when I walk in the door, get pounced on by cats. What I really need to do on Friday is pick up a one-time digital camera so that I can take pictures of the cats and introduce you guys to the Siamese Ninja Death Squad.

I also called my brother yesterday. According to Bryan, college is boring. I couldn't argue that one. He also said he didn't have work or school this weekend, so it's off to the movies we go. This terrifies me, as he won't want to see the supposedly good movies I haven't seen and I have a feeling I'm not going to be all that thrilled with whatever he picks. (But, hey, Cinemark. *swoons* I adore our Cinemark. It's on a hill overlooking the local Philly farm team's stadium, so when they have games, you can park on the far side of the parking lot with picnic stuff and watch with binoculars. And the best part is, nobody cares.)

Also, I have to talk him into taking me to Borders, which shouldn't be all that hard. I seriously need a really detailed Pennsylvania road atlas. I'm setting the TroNoWriMO in northeastern Pennsylvania, just because that'll just make it a hell of a lot easier for me.

You know, maybe I'll double-check the Red Barons's game schedule for the next couple of months. Maybe I can stick that watching-from-the-Cinemark-parking-lot bit in the story. *scurries off to write*

Current TroNoWriMo word count: 6,272 words. Days left: 28

If I can at least hit 10,000 words before I get on the bus on Saturday, that'd be nice.

*wants to stay home and write more than anything ... well, except for maybe a million dollars and an week alone with Hugh Jackman*

Also, I've been looking at the movie reviews and I really want to go to see Vanity Fair this weekend. And I can't emphasize enough that I'm going to the movies this weekend with an 18-year-old guy who will, with my luck, argue for Alien vs. Predator. *headwall*
apocalypsos: (work sucks)
So I called my mother today and learned ... well, nothing. I learned the woman that sits near her at work had a stroke (she just had one a month ago, so this was #2) and died, that my grandpa Al may be coming down this weekend from Boston (but probably not), and that we're having a barbecue on Sunday. So ... yeah, nothin'.

I also told her about TroNoWriMo. She laughed at me, probably because she knows that I'll spend the entire month clinically insane because of it and that's always good for a giggle and some quality "America's Funniest Home Video" footage.

Bossman and Lieutenant Asshat also did some of my work for me before I came in today, which was nice but completely ruined my sense of accomplishment when I got everything finished and the office relatively empty ahead of schedule. But, hey, considering how many jobs I've had where no one (especially the boss) gave enough of a shit about you to help you do anything, I can't complain, I can merely well my puppy-dog eyes with tears and let my bottom lip wibble me away into a free lunch tomorrow.

I also told the Grouch I'd let him do returns tomorrow, since he keeps running out of things to do. I hope I don't regret this, but then again, that could be the part of my brain that Bosslady imprinted with the fear of "OMGWTF Bossman iz going 2 fire U stooopid!!1!!11" before she left.
