And now, in my fucking-with-maps series of images to go with "Pennsylvania is not just Philly and Pittsburgh, people", I bring to you my response to anyone who in the past week has had the nerve to utter any variation of the phrase, "Well, if you live in an area plagued by hurricanes, you're asking for this to happen to you."

Right now on NBC, Katie Couric and Matt Lauer were talking to Chris Matthews about the statement Bush just made about New Orleans. First they ripped apart how ridiculous what he's said is, and now they're discussing with their reporter in New Orleans how ludicrous it is that reporters and Harry Connick Jr., of all people, can get into New Orleans but official help cannot. As the reporter just pointed out, they talked to ambulance drivers outside of the city and asked why they're not going in, and one said that he wasn't going in because his wife said it wasn't safe.

Chris Matthew pointed out that Bush is going to "fire some people" over this, and will probably get the blame.

God, I hope so. This is fucking ridiculous.

Condoleeza Rice supposedly went fucking shoe-shopping on Fifth Avenue the other day, for Christ's sake.

See, this is why I've been trying not to watch the news this week -- because I come out of it enraged.

Well, the psycho hose beast that was my work week is over. Which is probably a good thing, considering I was at the end of my rope. Also, today somebody called me "ma'am." Damn it, I don't want to be called "ma'am." If anything, people trying to be overly polite are allowed to call me "Madam," but only as long as they do it in a deep, melodramatic English accent.

I just watched a puppet Liza Minelli beat up her puppet husband. That was far too amusing.
